I received the non-O when I went to Cambodia for two weeks

at the end of my 60 days I flew to Cambodia and submitted the E visa online the evening that I arrived. It took 10 business days so two full weeks. But Cambodia it was so cheap. It was not a problem. I had great hotels for less than $30 a night. Getting into Cambodia you just fill out a form on an iPad and pay $30.

speaking firsthand, the problem is that you can only do that if you have a Thai bank account. And now you can only get a Thai bank account if you already have the non-o immigrant visa. So realistically, you need to get the visa before you come into Thailand.

The option of paying agents has become very unpredictable and unreliable at least for now

Don’t make my mistake!!!

You MUST get the non-o immigrant visa before you leave USA. Go online to the Thai embassy.

Then come to Thailand and open a bank account. Agents seem to be charging way more money, but you can pay it if you want. But if you come here with a non-o immigrant visa you can do it yourself.

No went from 30 to 60

You came in as “tourist” too many times to be believable. And you don’t ACT like a tourist. Tourists bring money for their trip.

You had no ticket out.

You over stayed before.

Basically you planted a sign on your forehead that reads: “ I am PRETENDING to be a tourist but I am NOT a tourist.”

I had to leave Thailand at the end of my 60 days and go to Cambodia. I submitted the E visa to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh (online). I had heard some people say it could come as soon as three days. On the phone, the Embassy told me it could be up to 10 business days (which means two weeks). I am hoping it does not take that long.

However, here in Cambodia prices are so cheap. It’s not a problem to stay. I have a really nice room with a balcony, at a hotel with a rooftop swimming pool. It is near pub Street where all the night life is, and is only $27 (U.S.) per day!!!!

What happens if I return to USA for more than 90 Days? Do they know that I am gone because the stamp in my passport? I assume I am still good for the entire year of the retirement visa, even if I am not in the country, correct?

I misunderstood the process and thought I could come into Thailand on Visa exempt and then while there apply for the non-immigrant visa.

I have read so much about how difficult they’re making it to leave the country and come back that I decided to go to Cambodia and apply online for an E visa for the 90 day non-O immigrant. I may have to be here 10 days before I get it., but prices are so cheap. It’s not a problem. In Siem Reap I have a hotel with a rooftop swimming pool and a balcony on my room for $27 (U.S.) a night, near pub Street where all of the fun and night life is.
