My gf and I are moving to Thailand on a DTV visa for workation. We plan to be there around 2 years, exploring Asia and working remotely (my gf works as a freelancer and I own a company).
We've seen a ton of information online about entry at the airport being a potential issue.
Can anyone share a list of things we must have upon entry to ensure we will be fine and have a smooth entry experience?
Something Interesting! on my previous visit in my DTV visa, Lady officer asked me many questions before giving me stamp, But today i look for a counter at BKK APT with male officer. He just asked to show the visa soft copy, thats it he gave me stamp without any questions!
Many ppl in this group said lady IO's are strict. Thats seems to be true.
I entered Thailand on the 2nd March visa exempt and only stayed 2 weeks, I have only visited once before this and it was over a year ago and only for a few weeks as well. Im looking at coming again at the end of April but Im not sure if I might have problems entering visa exempt again before the original 60 day stamp from march expires on the 30th April? Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks
Will I have any issues with Thailand immigration if I don't have a return airline ticket to USA booked? I have my TDAC document already. I'm entering the country to meet my Thai wife's family, but my wife is already in Thailand so she's not traveling with me. I plan to stay in Thailand and apply for a marriage visa while there, but I didn't state that on my TDAC document Do I need to show our marriage certificate from USA or something else to avoid issues with immigration? Thank you.
Going to Thailand April 6, 2026. Is a ticket out of Thailand necessary to get into Thailand. Plan to stay 90 days but if our villa in Turkey, which is currently for sale, sells during this time we will have to return to Turkey. Otherwise I would go ahead and purchase a ticket from Bangkok to Nepal. Depending on what everyone says, O might just go ahead and buy a ticket to Nepal.
Thought it worth sharing just came back into Thailand at Lao Border/Nong Kai - all was fine as I have a DTV but 2 others turned away for too many entries and another for not having an onward flight, though he was told you on showing proof he could come back.
Very unfriendly and certainly not a border I would recommend without having exact paper work/correct visa etc which of course one should have however if you are in that “grey area” best pick another entry point imho.
My last entry to Bangkok was on October 5, 2025. Tm30 done. I submitted the TM47 on December 25, 2025 at the immigration office, valid until March 24, 2026. I have not left Thailand since then. I have a flight on April 2, 2026.2 days ago I submitted the TM47 online. rejected. contact immigration office. What could be the reason? I don't understand
