The situation is: I live in the district of Surat Thani and have currently a business visa & work permit
My idea is to change it to a dtv visa this month (business visa comes to an end) and I got all the needed documents to apply for the new visa
My questions:
1: I have a work contract as a freelancer - which is kind of a contradiction. So did anyone apply for this visa with a freelance work contract already?
2: I want to apply in Malaysia for the visa, how long does the process usually take - did anyone apply in Malaysia in the last 2-3 months in Penang or Kota Baru?
3: is it in theorie possible to apply first in Thailand and only if the visa is granted to leave the country
4: is it a very different process and really recommend to get help for a visa agency?
I arrived in Thailand on 14th Jan and my visa expires on 14th March. To extend this my Thai partner and I travelled to Laos today with intentions of returning to Thailand on 13th March. I have been told by the Thai office at Nong Khai that I will not be allowed back in via Nong Khai and must fly to Bangkok to get entry back into Thailand. As I stay near Phang Khon in Sakon Nakhon I will then have to fly back to Udon Thani for my partner to collect me with vehicle we have left at Nong Khai as we have done on last 2 visits to Laos. Any advise would be more than welcome, sorry if it is a bit long winded, many thanks, Chris
Advice needed. I am 56 and working 1 more year for government Michigan, USA. Been to Thailand 3 months of the last year. Made up my mind to move to Thailand, start a small business and move there permanently. Upon research, I cannot obtain a retirement visa and own a business. If I am reading correctly my best option to live and make money in Thailand is to obtain a work visa and a work permit? Please any advice on obtaining a visa to own, operate a business and live permanently in Thailand? Also any good Thailand law firms that would be good references?
Good Morning. Due to a rule change a few days ago, Stv cannot be changed in country anymore which has put me in a bind. Any advice on options without leaving the Kingdom would be great. Tia
