If you want to open a bank account it is very straight forward. Got to an immigration office and apply for a certificate of residence, after providing the relevant documents they will then ask you which bank you want to open an account with and they will provide a letter.
Don’t use an agent, don’t listen to everyone saying it’s impossible, it’s easy you just need the correct paperwork.
Banks are very happy to accommodate you when you provide the required documents.

Here's the list of documents required for opening a new account using DTV which was given by the bank(TTB). They need a printout of everything mentioned here. I'm yet to do it. Just posting it here as a reference material.
Re non O retirement visa: with the new tax laws coming into effect what options do I have to get around this in transferring money from the UK to a Thai bank account? Ta
