Are there specific requirements for the 65,000 transfer into my account each month for the next 12 months? I probably will use Wise from my USA account. Do I remember reading something about how it has to be labeled?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for the monthly income method for a visa, you must transfer at least 65,000 baht into a Thai bank account in your name from abroad each month for 12 consecutive months. Use a service like Wise and label the transfer as "Funds for long term stay in Thailand" to ensure proper coding as an international transfer. Each transfer must be marked as originating from overseas, and you cannot double up on months.

Thank you all. This post is not gonna be a "how to transfer internationally" post.

In Wise use "Funds for long term stay in Thailand" as the reason for the transfer. The code on the Thai bank side depends on the bank: Kasikorn labels it as FT (foreign transfer), no idea about the other banks.

This I see on my Bangkok bank statement using "funds for long stay in Thailand" with Wise.

Yep. Bangkok bank Immediately states it as 'international transfer'. Also I don't know for other banks.

I have noticed that with BKK Bank if you transfer a Baht amount from overseas it codes as Bahtnet but if you transfer a specified amount of foreign currency it codes as Foreign TT. FYI

To use monthly income method by transfer the requirement is you tranfer into a thai bank account in your name only from abroad a minimum of 65K baht a month, each month, every month, for the previous 12 months

You can have multiple transfers per month as long as the total is at least 65K baht. You can't miss a month and double up the next month 😕

All the transfers need to "code" as international origin. Doesn't matter what you use to move the money here, it's your responsibility to make sure those deposits code as overseas transfers.

can folks from USA use this method now? I thought the US embassy stopped doing this type of paperwork associated with this method.

@Jeffrey ******
this is what you have to do because there’s no more income verification 65k+ a month showing as a foreign transfer code FTT

it's the ONLY way people from countries whose embassies don't issue income affidavits can use "monthly income method" for proof of funds for extensions here

you have to transfer in the minimum required from overseas for 12 months before you apply for the extension <- this means you cannot use it for the first year extension only the second onward

Does it have to be the same date each month or close to it ? . Or would a transfer on the 30th and the 2nd of the following month be Ok for 2 months ? Never seen this answered anywhere

@Barry ******
nope any date, multiple transfers per month as long as it hits the minimum required and it's each month, every month for the previous 12 months and all the transfers code as international you're fine.
