If you have a stamp that says you are currently allowed to stay until say 6th August then you probably won’t get stopped leaving the country as the immigration officer won’t know that you’ve finished your job. However the problem would arise if you return and apply for another Non B. It’s at that point that they will notice your overstay and will open a can of worms.

OK so you got the Non B issued in country? If it was a year ago then you are no longer on a non B visa but an extension of stay based on being employed.

That extension finished the moment you finished your job. You are on overstay from that day.

Usually the way it works is that you get a letter from the employer stating that you will be finishing on xyz date which could be a week or so away. You take that to the ministry of labour and cancel your work permit and then immediately go to immigration with the documents from the MOL to cancel your extension and immigration will give you a stamp to stay until xyz date.

Whether you can still do this will be dependent on your employer. If not then the day you finished is the day the reason for allowing you to stay finished. You must either apply for an extension based on another valid reason, and meeting those requirements or leave. There is no grace period.

The question is more that were you on an initial 90 day visa that you got from a consulate before you came or were you on an “extension of stay” stamp on your passport?

There is no time limit on a re-entry permit. You can get it at the same time you get your extension or on your way out at the airport, or at any time in between.

All the re-entry permit does is keep your current allowed to stay date “alive”.

As Brandon said the countries don’t communicate about individuals travelling unless on some sort of wanted list.

However your passport will have entry and extension stamps in it so in theory could be checked.

To be legal you should get it changed. Whether anyone would ever check is questionable but in theory they could.

While you are at it make sure you update your bank too.

I am not a travel agent. I volunteer at my local immigration office to help others with their visa issues as well as answer questions on the visa FB Visa forums.

No an IDP is not a requirement but a long term visa is needed.
