Communication between countries for VISA

Hello,

I am a French citizen, in Bangkok since 30 days.

I like the city and I will probably do the visa to stay 30 days more.

I was wondering, when you make a visa in Thailand, is the country will communicate it to France (by a database or direct communication I don't know) ?

Long story but I am working remotely for the french government (basic work, no confidential data), in theory, I have to stay in France but my contract finish in a few months so I don't care to be fired.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses whether Thailand will communicate visa extension details to France, particularly for a French citizen working remotely from Bangkok. Responses indicate that Thailand does not notify other countries about individual visa status unless there are special circumstances, like a wanted list. Concerns about online work monitoring and IP tracking are also raised, suggesting a VPN may help maintain privacy.

If you log into an online portal of some kind to do your job, your IP may be tracked or even blocked if you are logging in form outside France/Europe etc. Of course, if your work isn't sensitive they may not check these things at all. You can use a VPN with a server in France to avert this.

This is not legal what I am doing, I am working remotely but I should stay in France. But as I mentioned I don't care because my contract finish soon

After this is not the purpose of my post (if it is legal or not)

not if you are a contractor/subcontractors, with holiday leave explicitly written in your contract, or anything other than full time and permanent employment contract, which then you must follow the conditions for agreeing holiday leave, ie period of notice, request in writing in/on specific form(at), or online portal, and agreement/sign off from your superior or line manager. If not, this is considered misconduct. You have 'the right' to request your entitled/contracted holiday leave, you don't have 'the right' to be on holiday outside of this. But I guess if you are French.....🤪

Facial Recognition is active in Thailand. In line at the Airport they already know your name, etc. this information is shared on a worldwide computer network.

do not think so. Each country will be overloaded with info from all over the world. Only when someone is wanted in a country they will share that with other countries

Sure, if he is wanted by Interpol or working for the intelligence services they will see him. That doesn't seem to be the situation here.

As Brandon said the countries don’t communicate about individuals travelling unless on some sort of wanted list.

However your passport will have entry and extension stamps in it so in theory could be checked.
