Questions about the 6 month METV- thanks to this group for the helpful advice received so far!

I have just re entered Thailand on my 3rd re entry since I obtained the visa and was stamped for 60 days today.

I followed the advice from this group and arrived today from overseas closest to the date my METV visa was set to expire/be used by so I will have got a little over 6 months out of the visa.

My two questions are:

1. Can I go overseas in November and come back in the next 60 days as I have a stamp to 25 December? Or if I leave Thailand is that that- visa used (as visa used by date was 1 November)

2. If I leave for a couple of weeks and return before Christmas Day can I apply for the 30 day extension and do I need to worry about closure over Christmas period?

The DTV holder has the right to stay in Thailand for 180 days, which can be extended for an additional 180 days, for a total of 5 years. However, when a frequent traveler or digital nomad has used their 180 days, if they travel abroad and return, will they continue to use the remaining days from the initial 180 days, or will a new 180-day period begin? Additionally, since this visa is a multiple-entry visa, can the visa holder enter and exit Thailand as many times as they wish?

Hi, I am a foreigner working in Bangkok. I wanted to ask, if my passport currently at the embassy waiting to make a visa, is it possible to travel domestically by air, or anything else without passport (only use my country’s ID or work permit or copy of passport and visa page?

I currently have an education visa (original stamp, not extension) and I'm due for my first extension soon (Aug 20). However, I plan to leave Thailand on Aug 26 and I do not need to re-enter on this visa.

-

My question is, instead of going through the process to extend this visa, can I go to immigration to "cancel" the visa and get a "get out of Thailand within 7 days" stamp?

I have been to Thailand about 12 times on 90-day tourist visas and 2 times on retirement visas over 12 years As recently as March 2024 I arrived at BKK airport and was given a 30 visa-exempt. entry, 3 weeks later I went to Thai Immigration at "Blupoint Shopping Centre" in Hua Hin and obtained a 1-month extension for Bt1900, it took about an hour all told including the interview with a police officer. I have never been asked about a ticket to exit Thailand on all my trips. In the 15 times I have been there, I have never been asked about an exit ticket even though it says you will.

PS... I now have a ticket to return to Hua Hin on 18/09/2024, exiting Thailand on 14/11/2024 which is 57 days. For me, it does not matter if they have not sorted out their 60-day visa-free entry issues by then. If not I'll get 30 days visa-free stay and just apply for 30 days extension at Immigration in Hua Hin and pay the required Bt1900.

By the way, Thai Immigration was/is very helpful at Hua Hin Immigration with staff people eager to advise you of the method and offer help, it is much simpler now. You only need your passport and proof of where you live to fill out the application (best to do a dry run first)). i.e. a receipt from your hotel will do. Thailand by delaying each application for the 60 visa-free issues is then Bt1900 better off, when you extend your visa, I don't mind, I believe tourists should/could be required to pay something.

Hello everyone 🤗

I am coming to Bangkok next week 🤗

Just wanting to know a bit more about extending my tourist visa? What is the best way to do it easily?

I would have liked to apply for the 90 day but I am not in my country of citizenship.

Thank you so much for any insights and info 🤗

Does anyone know how far in advance you can get a re-entry permit for overseas travel whilst already in Thailand on a Marriage visa? I am travelling briefly to Malaysia from Thailand in October and was thinking of getting the re-entry permit now.

What would be your VISA recommendation for visiting Thailand for a period 6 months. During that time we plan to be based in Hua Hin but also travel around other parts of Thailand and likely a couple of weeks in Vietnam & Malayasia. (so border runs may already be "built-in" to our schedule).
