Useful for banks buying vehicles. Also when i was stuck in Singapore during covid think yellow book and pink ID card was one of things helped me get on a repatriation flight back to Thailand

My wife has had no issues applying for it. First time was for business meeting so company paid for agent. No idea what different class means. Since then she has done on her own and she just said simple enough. I am not Australian so not sponsoring

its not likely to be abandoning visa exemption. Will probably be same as Singapore and Malaysia and its just an aid to the automatic immigration.

I knew a guy who was 15 years overstay once. Took advantage of tsunami and got on a repatriation flight back to UK with "loss of passport in tsunami"
