TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among users is that a yellow book (house registration) does not confer a TM-30 registration. Many comments highlight that the TM-30, which reports a foreigner's presence at a specific residence, operates independently of the yellow book system. While one user noted that their experience with a yellow book sufficed for TM-30 filing in Koh Samui, most agreed that these two documents are unrelated.

Contrary to what the answers here are expressing, I have a yellow book and a non o visa based on marriage and the yellow book suffices for a TM 30 substitute. That is my recent experience on Koh Samui. The Immigration Department in other provinces maybe different.

Iโ€™ve been told the same by IO in Sakon Nakhon. ๐Ÿ‘

The TM30 says you are a foreigner staying in a certain place. The yellow book says you are a foreigner staying in a certain place. I guess I don't see the difference.

because even with a yellow book you could still go somewhere else to stay, like a hotel etc and they'd do a TM30. So that's what's relevant. The TM30 says where your physical body is staying.

Think: are you going to delete your name from the yellowbook if you are not living there? Even its only 24+ hours? No i guess not.

A yellowbook doest show if you are actually staying there.

And the yellowbook has nothing to do with Thai immigration

No they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
