I entered Thailand via Chiangmai Airport today from Hanoi, Vietnam (13 June).
They sent off DTV holders to separated area next to the immigration lines to fill the interview form which basically asking the same information as TDAC form (personal info, arrival-departure flight/date,etc.)
I got asked to show the proof of money in my bank account. I just pulled up my bank app.
And asked about the address and what is the purpose of visiting/how long.
But overall it was not intimidating or anything.
It wasn't a long process just quick and straightforward.
Ps. This is first time entering with DTV visa
Just sharing some experience here if anyone was looking for. :)
Hey all...quick question. Once I'm approved for my DTV, is there a time frame that I need to enter Thailand? I.e. within 4 weeks?
I assume not and the 5 years just starts? Basically, I'm going to be in Hanoi and was gonna just do it then but I probably wont be back in Thailand for a few months.
I think should be ok but wouldn’t mind having my mind put at ease
Went to Thailand twice towards the end of last year on a British passport using the (what was) 60 day visa free entry, both trips were roughly 50 days each. Am going again for Songkran, this time for 3 weeks
Is there any chance they might refuse me entry? I have heard it all depends on the immigration officer you get on the day
Coming from Laos to Thailand, anyone been denied entry from this checkpoint? * European passport
I am not doing a border run, I’ve been out of Thailand for 6 weeks. My last stay was 60 days left for a week and then 20 days. And I also stayed one month in April, so 3 visits in the last year.
My plan was to go to Thailand at the end of February and then to Vietnam and Bali from mid of March to mid of April. Before going back to Sweden spend a few days in Bangkok. All in less than 60 days.
But now, after reading about ETA, I have been really confused. There are so many contradictions when trying to find out what’s right.
Can I do this without problems? Boarder crossings will be by air. Fights to and from Stockholm probably with Thai airways.
I’ve already asked the Thai embassy in Stockholm but they passed me on to Immigration. I guess you are giving me a quicker answer.
Hypothetical situation, you applied for an e-visa in your home country. Due to uncontrollable circumstances, there was a very long delay in the approval process. You have taken the decision to travel to Thailand and enter visa exempt, instead of waiting for e-visa approval. I am thinking this may have consequences. Maybe you are denied entry visa exempt, because of pending e-visa approval or upon entry visa exempt, the e-visa application is automatically cancelled, as it should be. If anyone has had this experience, I would be interested in hearing your story.
