My wife is going to purchase a house shortly in Phrae province.
As we have to return to UK in 6 weeks time (whilst I am here on a 90 day visa so won’t be extending it this trip) how long does it take to get a blue book which I guess would only be in my wifes name?
Would this entitle me as married to a thai, the yellow book which, when I return to Thailand Oct ‘26, makes things a bit easier for opening a bank account in place of a certificate of residence?
Last year at my renewal of “retirement visa” I wrote a note to myself that I needed my wife to bring our blue book and the “house owner form”. I have a yellow book for the property.
1) what is the “home owner form”?
2) do I need the original issued 3-month visa that I am now seeking to extend again based on qualifying as retired?
Hi guys I will be moving to Thailand with my thai wife next year on 90 day NON O visa for marriage we have a house in Thailand in my wife's name with a blue book my question is does my wife have to fill in a TM30 form on my behalf and do I need that to get a certificate of residency so I can open a bank account
I’ve decided to get a Thai drivers license. My wife and I live in Phichit. I have US drivers license with motorcycle stamp, I have my IDP from AAA that is current. My question is I have a yellow book and pink thai ID card. Will that suffice as a certificate of residency?
Got my account locked by Bangkok bs kin Roi-et , Staff seem clueless. Any other bank which is easier to get account ( have 15 months left on non immigrant visa , letter from immigration , two Thai driving licences ( bike and car ). They say they not take a TM 30. Must have a yellow book !
Update.... I just attended a bank interview, to update my profile, after asking on the phone for a yellow book and passport. I thought I'd take the time to put people's minds at ease. I told my Thai language support team to go shopping , because sometimes things get lost in the translation. I was asked for my passport then my yellow book. I handed over my passport and gave her a blank stare. She then asked for my driver's licence. Job done, painless. A completely different conversation that was had on the phone. No need for a yellow book at all. Despite the fact that I have one. This is how matters should be handled, not shutting down accounts without explanation.
As bob Dylan once said " the times they are a changing" two phone calls from Bangkok Bank today looking for Mr Tony, I'm clearly not Mr Tony then later on that day yet another phone call this time with the correct name. The reason for the phone calls, were to kindly ask me to attend the bank with my yellow book drivers licence and pink I'd card, to update my account details. This is surely a better approach than suspending accounts without any warning. Which begs the question, is a yellow book and I'd card the new rule of the week? It appears so.
