DTV Workation (USA, Business Owner) approved in 1 business day in Manila, Philippines 😮 I have a branding and web design business with a US based LLC. I have tons of online presence and an online portfolio to showcase, so I'm sure this aided in the quickness.

Followed a lot of the posts in this group here to a T, alongside the help from ChatGPT to write contracts, letters, descriptions etc.. But wanted to share my own experience to aid anyone else in the process! I put together three different PDF's that I created in Google Docs.

1. PDF 1: Proof of Business

* Cover Letter explaining who I am, what my company does and why I'm seeking the DTV. Made sure to highlight that income is generated from non-Thai sources and that my work is fully remote in nature

* Company overview with a company intro, explanation of business services, explanation on where my clients are based on how I earn revenue, and description on my nature of work being remote and location-independent

* Employee Contract & Director Service Agreement (asked ChatGPT to write this between my LLC to me as the director)

* Employment Certificate Letter (written by ChatGPT stating that my company certifies me to work online and remotely)

* EIN Document from IRS

* Schedule C (Proof of Sole Proprietorship and Tax) for tax year 2024 and 2025 - I blacked out my social security number

* Tax Compliance Report downloaded from the IRS

* My website screenshot with a link alongside a short explanation on who I am, what I do and for whom

* Screenshot of Upwork Profile

* Resume & University Degree

* Screenshots of client branding & website projects with links to live websites. Each portfolio piece had a short description on project scope, a written client review and video testimonials

* More client reviews (included about 10)

* Client Invoices for the past 6 months

* Business Bank Statements for the past 6 months with client payments highlighted in red to match invoice names. Also highlighted owner draw/salary in blue

* Business Income Statement from Xero showing company Revenue & Expenses year to date.

* 2 Client Contracts

2. PDF 2: Proof of Financial Evidence

* Personal Savings Overview: A table outlining the amount held in USD on Jan 23, Feb 17, March 17 with the Thai baht equivalent next to it. Included a screenshot of my ending statement balance converted from USD to THB on Xe currency converter. My ending statement was approx ฿720K+

* 6 months of bank statements: ฿500K+ held for a little under 3 months, and it did drop under that amount by a little once or twice! I've heard from this group that you don't need 3 months of fund seasoning for Manilla, but had it prepared just to be safe.

* Proof of Long Term Investments held in a Brokerage account with Vanguard

* Business Bank Statements for the past 6 months with client payments highlighted in red and owner draw/salary highlighted in blue

3. PDF 3: Proof of Location

* *Note: *I'm dual American & Philippine citizen. I included a photo of my Phil passport to prove this. I am staying with family in Cebu at a condo I co-own, so didn’t have a formal booking

* Proof of accommodation letter (written by ChatGPT) stating that I am staying in the condo for a month. The letter included my full name, my passport number and address in Cebu. Also included a recent utility bill, the condo title, and the passport + license of the other owner

* Proof of Location including a photo of my entry stamp, a photo in front of the Cebu airport holding my passport and boarding pass, a screenshot of my etravel arrival card, and my airline eticket receipt.

My application was probably a bit overkill tbh, but no revisions or additional documents requested. I feel like the hardest part was compressing my PDFs to under 3MB each without losing the quality of images lol. I used a combo of Adobe Acrobat and iLovePDF to compress the files

I’ve been in Thailand for 7 years with all sorts of visas including education, volunteer and smart visas. Still amazed at how smooth this visa process was and still can’t believe it took one day to process 🤯

I applied around noon on Wednesday, e-visa letter available to download through the portal on Thursday around 4pm, and official approval email received at 7:30pm

My partner is British with an online e-commerce and Amazon FBA business, and he followed a similar format. They asked for some additional documents for his application after 1 business day, then was approved the following day around noon. He included screenshots of his Amazon product listings with links to his Amazon storefront, screenshots of product reviews, UK business incorporation, UK + US brand trademarks, Amazon FBA payout proof receipts, screenshot of seller central dashboard highlighting recent sales for the past 6 months, supplier invoices, product packaging, product inserts, link to his Shopify website, 6 months of company bank statements with amazon payouts and director salary highlighted and labeled, recent PAYE statements for the past 2 months, VAT registration certificate, and proof of his last VAT return for his UK Ltd company (screenshots from [[GOV.UK](GOV.UK)]([members only]) website).

*** The additional documents they requested from him was proof of corporation tax / tax payments. He uploaded PAYE statements, VAT registration certification, and proof of his last VAT return for his UK Ltd company*

Took two business days in total for him to receive his e-visa approval letter.

TOURIST VISA

I'm currently on a 3mth only visa from the US & recently received my Thai national passport in BKK.

What's the best way to stay longer if I should decide after my 3mths is up?

Leave the country & enter as a Thai national? Where's the quickest boarder run & back? Costs?

If I choose to stay longer, does that effect my entry back to the US with my US passport?

Does an eight year-old child from the US need an E visa to re-enter Thailand? We left using her US passport, although she has dual citizenship because she was born in Thailand and also has a Thai passport.

Ok totally new to all of this. I was born in Bangkok in the 70s. My Dad is American. My Mom is Thai. Both are deceased. I haven’t been been back to visit in 20 years. Will be changing that soon. My question is what steps do I need to take to claim my Thai citizenship and maintain dual citizenship assuming this is allowed? Sorry I am old school and need step by step instructions. I plan on retiring in less than 10 years and want all this done and to

Find a place to buy in Thailand

Thank you for any help.

Hello there! I’d like some advice here regarding the best course of action in my particular case. I am currently married to a Thai woman who has two children from a previous relationship. We currently live in the USA, she is here on a CR-1, and our kids (ages 6 & 12) remain in Thailand with extended family while she becomes acclimated. We have submitted I-130’s for both kids and the plan is for them to join us here in the states prior to the beginning of the 2026 school year. The “plan” is to be here long enough for my wife to become a citizen, and both children to at least achieve LPR status, but during that timeframe, approximately 3 years, we plan on traveling back and forth between our countries on a fairly regular basis. Ya see the thing is we are still unsure as to where we eventually where we want to make the primary residence, much will depend on how the kids adapt. If it was not for the kids we would probably settle in Thailand, however there is a lot more opportunity for them here in the USA. So you can see this is a bit of a cluster 😎.

Taking that into account the prospect of retiring in Thailand remains a strong possibility, and in the very least we would be visiting at least twice a year for at least a month each time. I was wondering if I should begin pursuing a retirement visa or DTV or simply rely on tourist visas until we have a more definitive plan 🙀. However any way it goes we will be coming and going from both countries on an ongoing basis. I might add that we own homes in both countries and also have bank accounts in both as well. I’ve been monitoring the visa changes for some time now and it has been, shall we say, a bit unsettling. What appears to be the rule one day changes the next and it’s nerve wracking. So any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated. I realize I’m all over the place and may be coming off as a bit of a “nob” but I could really use some good advice…thank you very much 🙏🏼

Hi everyone and happy 2026 🙏

I want to apply for DTV myself online, freelance category and would appreciate some advice. I am 58 and hold dual citizenship (South Africa/Germany) with residency and tax registration in South Africa.

I have two properties outside of Thailand from which I receive a combined rental income of about 80k baht per month. Both have current one year tenancy contracts. In addition I have two separate bank accounts, each showing a balance of >800k baht continuously since September.

I realise that this would probably qualify me for a retirement visa but I do want to work too.

I retired from teaching in July 2025 and plan on doing online tutoring work. However, I don't have any company or official portfolio.

I have been doing this for the last 4 months (Sep-Dec) and earned 30000+ baht each month. All my clients are based in the UAE, so no Thai clients. Each of my clients I have taught previously and all clients are passed onto me by word of mouth. No company or website.

I did supply each client with an invoice for each month so I can provide invoices plus the bank statements showing each corresponding payment into my account.

Would this be sufficient information in my case for the freelancing?

I do not want to do (and pay for) muai thai, cooking or language courses.

I have heard quite a few people saying I should go for the retirement visa because no one will know about my online work, but this is not an option I'm willing to consider.

I will be applying through the embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.

Please only constructive advice and/or actual experience 🙏

Does anyone have a similar situation like this? I have two citizenships - Vietnamese and Serbian. My remote work contract and my bank account are all serbian and have info from my serbian passport. I want to apply for DTV from Hanoi where I live rn. Should I apply using my serbian passport or vietnamese passport?
