Has anyone renewed their Thai drivers license with the DTV visa? If so, what were the documents that they required when doing so.

Thanks in advance

Hi, l got my multiple entry retirement visa sorted last week but unsure on 2 things with it.

1. l intend to go back to the UK before my first 90 days is up and it says l must contact immigration for a re entry visa before leaving Thailand and

2. notification of residence must be made every 90 days.

My questions are:

1. How long before l leave for the UK do l need to apply for a re entry visa and what does it cost or involve?

2. If l leave Thailand before the 90 day notification of residence do l still have to give notification of residence?

TIA

I have a question about applying for the DTV visa I’m hoping someone may be able to answer. When we arrive we are staying in an Airbnb for a month until we find a place to rent. On the application they as “ accommodation type” would this be “guest house “ or “ private property?

Thank you

If I changed to soft power such as education in a local university in Bangkok, but I couldn't confirm to stay for 6 months now.

Though there're 9 levels to complete the whole course, each level only lasts about 6 weeks and different levels can be done on different dates throughout the year as long as there're sufficient people in the class.

At the moment, I couldn't confirm is the course really suitable for me or not, hence I've paid for 1 level and booked a hotel for 3 months stay.

I'll consider to apply for the next level only after finishing the first level.

So if I changed my application to soft power, can I just provide 3 months stay in a hotel instead of renting an apartment for 6 months?

Hello dear DTV'ers,

I wish to share my experience as I hadn't read a clear guidance on what happens when we leave Thailand while on the DTV visa. Yes, we know that it's a multi entry visa, but here is the interesting twist that I can confirm ( At least from my experience).

I first arrived in Thailand on August 2nd, expiration date: January 28 2025. Then I left the country for about 10 days in October. Entered Thailand on October 16th...my new expiration date is April 13th 2025. I find this situation very interesting as we also have the choice of renewing once a year with immigration(we'll see how that goes). One question is still unanswered, 180 + 180 (renewal)= 360, if we choose this path, what happens with those 5 missing days to complete the year?

I hope that this post will help put a little light with this fantastic visa.

Cheers

Hi guys , I am new to this group, so sorry for reposting questions answered previously. I stay in Thailand and have a rental contract for a condo here, but would like to apply for the DTV . Can I use the contract with my name and address in Thailand for the DTV application or does it need to be an address outside Thailand? . I don’t have an address in my home country anymore. Thanks 🙏

90 days report completed yesterday.

My process:

- Went to Immigration Division 1 in Lak Si (I had initially tried Chamchuri Square, but they sent me to Lak Si).

- Once inside the building, immigration is on the right. Walk in, get a TM47 form from the first counter, and then queue at the counter inside.

- Complete the TM47 form.

- Wait (in my case 4h). You can scan the QR code on your queue ticket to get live updates.

- Receive the 90-day report slip. No questions were asked, although I noticed that the staff seemed a bit lost as they chatted a lot among themselves, likely because I was one of the first to go through this process.

Please note that this was my experience—your process might differ, and the immigration officer could ask for more information.
