What happens if I quit my job after arriving in Thailand? Any idea if they would randomly ask for updated documents during my 180 day border runs

I have another question following on from the answers to my last one. Only people who know answer please. No bu!!5hit

So I’m going to stay at a friends house, initially for free but now im thinking of making it official by leasing at a small cost, say 5000 baht per month. What would be the procedure by the owner regarding immigration and how would they go about getting a lease contract made up.

I called an agent yesterday to assist with the DTV Visa. I told them we were both over 50 both with internet jobs. They told me not to go with the DTV visa to go with the retirement Visa. They said it would be cheaper for us. What do you all think about it. We want to retire there. Thanks for your input. Have a great evening

Afternoon all. I have been living in Thailand now for two years and I have been funding my stay with money I make from two properties I rent out in England.

I do not have a limited company. I have agents in the UK that take care of the properties for me. I do my annual tax return through the UK gov website.

My question is, would I be eligible for the DTV visa still?

The properties both provide a good wage to live off in Thailand and I have savings well over 500,000 baht.

Anyone else applied who is in similar position to myself?

I’m guessing I could ask my agents to provide evidence of the properties I own and the rent etc?

Hello,

I too received the DTV in Vientiane today.

I’m Canadian, have a Canadian holding company and a Canadian residence. I was teaching in Thailand until this past June.

I brought a ton of info with me including Thai bank statements, tax ID card, personal Canadian tax returns. They handed this all back to me.

Beyond the standard photos, passport copies, application etc they reviewed:

- 3 months investment account statements showing 500000b each month.

- copy of lease in Chiang Mai.

- AoI from company.

- corporate tax return

- bio of company and myself.

- original signed contract with Canadian client.

- letter from Canadian client which confirmed I would be working remotely.

Essentially they wanted to know: what are you going to be doing in Thailand, where are you living, and how much money you got?

Hi, I'm asking if anybody got the DTV Visa with a sponsorship letter.. I have remote contract and start at September regular work as a projectmanager with very good salary.. Finally I can make my dream true to live in Thailand... I currently don't have the 500.000 baht at the moment as savings. Do you think it's possible with a sponsor who declares to give me the financial support? Thank you mike

Hi All

I am hoping to retire at least part time in Thailand in 2026 , I don’t earn enough to get a retirement visa, I have a son who lives in Phuket .

I have another so in South Africa so I would spend a few months a year there . I will be 66 and self supporting, I see people mentioning visa exempt, what does this mean , how long can I actually stay for , I think I can get an extension of a month but not sure how often , so many things to figure out ,, I figured that medical cover is also too expensive for me so will rely on travel insurance, any advice would be helpful ,

Many thanks
