Tell me you’ve heard about the DTV without doing a single search on the Internet about the DTV

Anonymous participant in all fairness mate there’s nothing about your post that needed to be anonymous and if privacy is a concern and you still use Facebook and chrome (guilty as charged) you could always use an alias. Like first and middle name.

I don’t know if it’s standard. An agent told a friend wait 60-90 after a rejection.

Probably better to not invent a problem until it exists.

How do they know what your income is?

You’re banging money out of the ATM as you need it.

Don’t have Thai customers or do business in Thai baht.

Bring under 10,000$£€ with you. Cut a hole in the mattress.

Why do you owe thailand taxes when you’re on a tourist visa in Thailand checking emails?

Wait 60-90 days then try Jakarta. Emphasize the recurring income.

Stocks are fairy dust until sold.

Can she apply in mainland China? That might be better for her but I honestly don’t know.

A friend of a friend in the MFA said they’re going to revise the DTV program.

Ultimately making Workcation easier and Soft power harder to maintain.

Even pre book in-country renewals so you appear in person and spend 30 minutes tops at immigration. Everything else is digital. Only appearing for a recent photo and the stamp.

Banking to be included with a Thai driver license (even temporary) plus a resident certificate.

Priority immigration at all airports.

Sundays half price BTS before 5pm. Weekdays Thai admission price to national parks with an accompanying Thai.

No taxes on first $100k earned per year and then 10% up to $500k

Free repatriation of remains if you choose cremation.

Can buy land and own it until death if Thai nominee appointed as inheritor.

I’ve heard of successful applicants writing a letter explaining the total amount is in two accounts.

I don’t see why PayPal or Revolut would not be accepted. They are 100% liquid and not locked up.

We are humans dealing with humans. Explanations can go a long way to helping others understand.

You’re not doing business in Thailand. Your business is legal in the country it operates in.

Why would this be an issue?

Funny thing is not a single Thai person has ever told me foreigners, from backpackers to longterm guests, don’t spend enough money.

I’ve only ever seen foreigners put down other foreigners.

Making fun of everyone who isn’t like them and calling them: cheapskate backpackers, cheap Charlie old timers, losers in their own country, undesirables, and more.

They dreamt up the “ideal tourist” who stays for less than a month and spends 5,000 to 15,000฿ a day.

In the whole year someone spending 500,000฿ is seen as ‘not enough’. That these people are inferior to investors and the rich or anyone that didn’t put in decades of hard work in the West so they could retire here with a proper savings at 50 or later in life.
