How can I open a bank account in Thailand with a DTV Visa?

A friend of a friend in the MFA said they’re going to revise the DTV program.

Ultimately making Workcation easier and Soft power harder to maintain.

Even pre book in-country renewals so you appear in person and spend 30 minutes tops at immigration. Everything else is digital. Only appearing for a recent photo and the stamp.

Banking to be included with a Thai driver license (even temporary) plus a resident certificate.

Priority immigration at all airports.

Sundays half price BTS before 5pm. Weekdays Thai admission price to national parks with an accompanying Thai.

No taxes on first $100k earned per year and then 10% up to $500k

Free repatriation of remains if you choose cremation.

Can buy land and own it until death if Thai nominee appointed as inheritor.

Open a wise account or download TagThai you don’t need to have a Thai bank account to live in the land of smiles

I think everything is possible in Thailand if you pay enough 💰

You can’t open a bank account on a DTV Visa.

Anyone with DTV, I would recommend True Money, can easily top up at 7eleven. Can do most of the local payments and also it provides a digital master card to do local online shopping.

I was looking to open a Bank account, & i could of secured one with BKK Bank many moons ago *but had to purchase Insurance so was 8k in theory as I didn't need the insurance etc...

So in a way I'm glad I didn't open one as chances are they may well of Shut it down by now....

I don't see the point or use of a Thai Bank Account anymore there's hardly any great benefits at the Moment and with them Shutting & blocking the use of accounts so often lately & more risky....

Yeah I almost Detest paying the 220b withdrawal fee to Get cash but seriously limit that to emergencies etc...

I usually send a Friend with Thai Account 15,000-20,000b a Month to give me cash or Via ATM code for cardless withdrawal....

You cannot open a bank account on a DTV.

The only way you will get it on a DTV is by Thai marriage and or condo ownership. Even then it will be tricky

Your visa is a tourist visa , come and go ecery 180days , with foreign funding .no bankaccount for tourist

It's pretty unlikely you'll open an account with a DTV.
