On Monday, I attempted to get a Covid extension at Chiang Mai Immigration. My current Non-Imm visa was set to expire for today.
I had assumed all my paperwork was in order after passing the volunteer checking it over.
At the first counter inside I handed over my paperwork. The IO thumbed through it and then opened my passport. She declined my application because I needed to get my current visa canceled.
I cannot cancel my visa on my own. I needed a letter of cancelation from the sponsoring foundation. Unfortunately, they had closed and this was not possible.
My only other option was to use an agency to get my visa canceled in order to proceed with the covid extension.
Enter Thai Visa Advisor. Aom and her team were able to get me taken care of right away. We spoke on Tuesday afternoon and met Wednesday morning.
They are professional, friendly, and transparent with excellent and responsive communication.
If you can get something done by yourself, do it, but don't let your stubbornness prevent you from seeking assistance when necessary.
