Hey all, hope to get some advice.

I am a software engineer and run a ecommerce business on the side for a year now. Hence after saving enough money, I want to take a break from my coding job, and work on my ecommerce business fully while im in thailand. Ive launched my first product last year but due to lousy potential, I stopped it and currently not selling anything, but I’m working on my 2nd product.

I’m looking to apply the remote working route and am concerned about providing “6 months of salary slip”. Is it okay for me to provide my coding salary slip, although implying im going to be a remote worker for ecomm?

My business is small and not enough to pay myself a salary yet but revenue was about 50k last year..

DTV Visa : Photographer / Videographer

Hi all, can someone please explain how come freelancer (photographer / videographer) do not qualify for DTV if their clients are based abroad, and not working for any local based (Thai) clients.

Does "artist" qualify for DTV in that case? I can show a portfolio of images for exhibition in galleries.

Thanks for your help.

Just filling out the eVisa application. Just to make sure I don't get rejected for understanding something wrong I have two questions:

1. Within 'accomodation in Thailand' Contact No. - do I put my contact number in Thailand in there or the contact number of my landlord?

2. Could someone explain the distinction between 'Business Owner' and 'Freelancer' on the application? I’ve looked it up, and people say the line is a bit vague. For context, I’m self-employed and run a sole proprietorship with a tax number. I'd go for business owner but I'm not sure what the Thai embassy defines as freelancer

Thanks in advance!

Applied for evisa from Vietnam (HCMC) and it got approved last night. I applied last friday evening the 11th of october. On tuesday they requested additional docs. And this morning i woke up to see that the visa got approved last night.

Since I applied on friday night, and monday was a national holiday, it only took 2 working days to get my visa approved. It could have been just 1 working day, if I delivered the right documents the first time.

I applied as a remote worker as I have my own digital marketing business, so what I did was i just made a little document explaining what I do, who i work with, what my goals are in thailand, etc.

Then I just added a couple links to my main website and a link to some client case studies, but the problem was that my site is in Dutch, as i serve Dutch and Belgium clients.

So they requested additional information with the remark that everything should be in English or Thai. After that, I spent an hour or 2 to translate some key pages on my website to English. I also added a link to my Google My Business profile.

After this adjustment the visa application got approved.

For proof of location i uploaded another bank statement where I highlighted a recent ATM transaction in Da Nang.

Hi,

The Taipei embassy's website lists the following requirements for a workcation visa:

* *An official employment contract (with an employer residing abroad and no income generated in Thailand),

OR*

* *An official employment certificate (with an employer registered abroad),

OR*

* *A professional portfolio demonstrating status as a digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent, or freelancer,

OR*

* *An invitation or acceptance letter to participate in the mentioned activities.*

I have a few questions for anyone who has applied through the Taipei embassy:

1. Is providing one of these documents sufficient for approval?

2. If applying with an official employment certificate, what details need to be included? Is a signature and company stamp enough?

3. For freelancers, can I create my portfolio independently? Are there any specific requirements regarding the number of jobs?

4. Were there any additional documents requested during the process?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I read about DTV and one thing is not clear to me: "eligible foreigners are digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers". what exactly it means "freelancers" in Thailand?

i'm freelancer for Europe, it means i don't work for a company but i am an independent contractor. does it mean i can work in Thailand for my clients (not thai) and live in Thailand for 180 days per year (or more)?

thank you for answers
