EDIT: thanks so much for all the replies folks!! @admins: would it be helpful to start setting up an F.A.Q?

Hey everybody, Firstly thanks so much for all the great advice. I have a few question about the requirements:

- can I can have 500K baht across different bank accounts that are in my name? or does it need to be in a single account?

- I also heard that you need to show proof of salaries equivalent to >= 80K usd per year. is this correct? it would be a problem for me as I've been working parttime the last year

- lastly, can I apply for the DTV visa while I have an active other VISA? I currently have an ED one

I've applied for a soft power Muay Thai DTV with all the correct documents at Ho Chi Min. I've just received a document request for:

Other request documents: Please provide pay slips for the past six months that show detail the amount of tax deducted from your salary[...]

Other request documents: Provide company registration in ENGLISH version.

Seems they think I'm applying for a digital nomad DTV.

Any ideas? Contact the embassy in HCMC?

Hello, I want to retire in Thailand in the korat area at the end of this year, looking at the financial requirements for a retirement visa or I believe the other option is a non o visa for a year and then extend it for another year and in that time deposit 65,000 or more into a Thai bank account, would this work or do I have to stump up the 800,000 , no intention of getting married at the moment, have friends in Korat who have married and built their own houses, love the area and the friendly people

I don’t know whether to go and use an agent to simplify the process and I’m not sure if this is hundred percent legal, is there any comeback on using an agent, Thai government websites say that if you can prove from your pension provider that you have over 65,000 baht per month paid into a Thai bank account then this negate the need for the 800,000, I’m not sure what to believe because my friends are telling me that no bank or pension provider in the UK will certify this, confused

Looking to apply in Hanoi as a remote worker. I recently started working remotely for a company based in Singapore and have all the required documents and 500K in my bank account.

As I just started this job though, and was previously travelling and had no income, I am worried of what will happen if they ask for 6 moths of payslips (which I have seen mentioned on this group a few times). Is it likely they will ask for proof of past income? Or will a contract and letter from employer with my current salary suffice?

I have a few questions about the proof of savings of 500k for the DTV visa.

Some seem to provide 3 months of bank statements & some 6. How many months are actually officially required?

If your savings are held in different accounts and you transfer them into the same account, how long do you have to show the full 500k in that account for them to accept it?

Another option of financial proof seems to be payslips. If you own a business and invoice clients weekly, would that be acceptable?

Do they accept proof of a certain monthly income rather than 500k savings?

Or weekly income paid by clients into a personal bank account?

Thanks

Question about DTV as a business owner

I'm the owner/sole shareholder of limited liability corporation. I don't take a salary from my company.

Even though I can provide all the necessary paperwork and show 500K THB in the bank, I'm concerned that the lack of regular documented income from my company may be an issue because that seems to be a requirement for many other DTVs.

Do they usually ask business owner applicants for proof of income?

I'm planning to apply in Penang, but I'm open to other locations if anyone has recommendations.

Any input would be much appreciated 🙏

Asked a question a while back about the bank statement to prove monthly income. Someone said you had to choose "for long term visa" as the transfer reason. There was some other input.

These are the options. None talk about visa. Thoughts?

EDIT: this is a wire from an E-Trade account.
