Good morning,

I started working with 01.09.2024 for a US LLC(founded in august), received my first salary of 1800€ a few days ago. I've got a remote working contract with stamp and signature. Do I need addionally a payroll(or Wise transfer proof enough or a letter, because in working contract remote in Thailand is mentioned several times?) On my wise bank account I just have 1800€, all my money is in cryptocurrencies. Can I just transfer my crptocurrencies through exchanges to my bank account in order to have the 500k Baht on my account, or is this problematic?

I can even ask a friend, but a transfer of the majority of the amount from a friend just a few days before I apply could be critical, or?OR should I transfer the cryptocurrencies to another bank account of mine and then make a transfer to my wise account?

Hello everyone. Just thought I would post an update on my Non-Imm O visa extension. Yes, it's technically an extension of stay based on the original Non-O visa but everyone knows what I mean.

At any rate, got original Non-O visa based on marriage in May 2023 in Savannakhet when they weren't requiring financial information. It was a one year multiple entry. At the time I was living and working in Phetchaburi but my salary was less than 40,000. I tried extending down there, but they wouldn't accept my salary plus earnings from online teaching. So, I just waited and at the end of one year I got a 60-day extension to visit Thai wife.

In the meantime I had moved to Bangkok and got a teaching job with a salary higher than 40,000 baht. I started that job in March of 2024. Today I applied for my extension in Bangkok with paperwork from my school and other than a few minor hiccups, which we were able to fix without leaving immigration, got my "under consideration " stamp. I will go back on October 15 for my 1-year stamp.

Because I did it based on income of at least 40,000 baht per month, I didn't need to show any bank account information. Only proof of salary from school (3 months) and proof of tax payment. The rest of the stuff were the normal documents for Non-O extension based on marriage to a Thai.

Hope this helps. Really not too much work since I had the necessary documents from my job.

Wanting to apply for DTV for medical treatment, does anyone know if they accept Medical certificates from clinics and not hospitals?

Also has anyone been able to use their partners income to prove they have income and 500,000 baht in the bank? As I am out of work due to medical conditions but am financially supported by my partner and my name is also on his account.

Been talking to a lawyer and they’re saying it’s possible but to pay a fee to continue with the process, thought I’d see if anyone else has been able to get the DTV under these circumstances.

DTV success in Saigon/HMC! 3 of us (that we know of)!

This page was my pure source of useful info. Hope to ease anxiety and help others after my own experience.

At HMC they are, as already mentioned: very friendly and also have a sense of humour. I was laughed at one point - in a nice way.

To aid calm:

It is a shipping container dropped inside a side entrance/corner of the grounds. The Vietnamese guy in Thai uniform sat under a Red Bull umbrella - he’s your man and he will usher you to a plastic chair in front of the big green metal box. No, you don’t go inside the building! (Would have loved to have known this!)

We all had shoulders covered.

One guy went in sleeveless on collection and didn’t get stopped. But don’t be that guy…

Paperwork:

I made sure to sign all pages in bottom left corner to avoid doing it there.

I included a covering letter which:

1. briefly explained my personal situation and why I have been in Thailand so long as a tourist.

2. Bullet points explaining the paperwork I included.

NB: my covering letter was accepted. Friend that did post-it notes on paperwork to explain - they were removed.

They paid big attention to bank account amount and write what it is in THB.

They go through your paperwork. Put it in the order they like and if happy, take your fee.

What I submitted:

All our situations are all different here.

They accepted me as an artist/painter with a YouTube channel (letter from powers above in UK proving I am an artist + examples of work + print out of YouTube page). I have a child in Thailand (with Ed visa) so showed that. And added a dental note for good measure.

The $340 fee - it does have to be perfect bills/notes.

(People were turned away for a wrinkle!)

Black and white photocopies accepted.

When you go collect your passport you are seen 1st so worth getting there for 1.30 opening time.

The relief is real and I wish everyone the best of luck.

Silly question; I'm on Non 0 Retirement extension, issued in Chiang Mai. Do I need to prove 3 months seasoning after extension? If yes, how do I do that? Thanks

Hi, I’m married to a Thai citizen. In the past, I’ve entered Thailand on a 3 month non-immigrant O visa, and then gone to Thai Immigration in Rayong to extend the visa to 12 months. This extension required proof of funds of 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account for at least 3 months prior to the application (or monthly income of at least 40,000 baht). I just want to check that this figure has not changed in the past 2 years.
