Request for Advice on Thailand DTV Visa Reapplication

Hello,

I am currently applying for a Thailand DTV (Remote Work) visa in Ho Chi Minh City. It has been about two weeks. During the application process, the authorities requested additional documents twice. I submitted all the required documents as requested, but my visa was still rejected.

I am a foreigner, but I have a company and long-term residence status in Vietnam, so all my documents are genuine and valid. However, the rejection did not include a specific reason, so I am unsure what caused it.

I suspect the only possible issue might be with my financial documents in the final submission. Since there were many documents, I submitted:

* a 6-month bank statement from the account used to pay my company’s social insurance, and

* a balance certificate from another bank (I only submitted the balance confirmation without the transaction history).

I also did not include any explanation letter. Could this be the reason for the rejection?

I would like to ask if you have encountered a similar case, and I would greatly appreciate any explanation or advice so I can better prepare for my next application.

Thank you very much for your guidance! 🙏

Hello,

I applied for a Thailand visit visa (single entry) in January. After more than 30 days of processing, my application was cancelled due to an incorrect selection of document type.

I reapplied immediately.

I have also visited the embassy and sent emails to the visa section, but unfortunately, I have not received any supportive guidance.

As my travel date is approaching, I am quite stressed about the processing time.

I would really appreciate it if you might have any suggestions or advice on what I could do in this situation 🙏🙏🙏

I was refused a DTV visa in Vietnam. My documents are in order – I showed them to several people who had obtained the visa and were in situations similar to mine. My salary is significantly higher than the national average. I work in the IT sector. My bank balance is over 1 million baht (the funds have been sitting untouched for a year and a half; I simply accumulate savings there). I was planning to include my family.

I’ve heard that it’s possible to reapply in another country. To be honest, traveling with children is quite an adventure, so I wanted to ask whether there have been cases where an application was rejected in one country but approved in another.

Hello everyone,

I posted here recently about my DTV rejection in Hanoi. I applied under the Soft Power category for a Muay Thai course through an agency. Today I noticed that the agency made an error in my application: in my home address (in Dutch), the word “street” was missing the first letter “S”. Because of this, my home address was technically incorrect.

I’ve already emailed the embassy to ask for the specific reason for the rejection, but I strongly suspect it may be due to this detail.

My questions are:

1. Does it make sense to reapply again in Hanoi, considering the mistake can now be corrected?

2. Is there any point in going to the embassy in person to ask if they can fix this small error and reconsider my application?

3. I really prefer to enter Thailand with the DTV already approved, rather than coming in on a tourist entry and reapplying months later. Has anyone had experience with this?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I need some advice about re-applying for a Thai DTV visa.

I had two recent rejections:

• One application was submitted in Cambodia

• One application was submitted in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh)

The situation became complicated because of an agent’s mistake:

After the Cambodia application was delayed, the agent cancelled it and immediately submitted a new one in Ho Chi Minh, so both processes overlapped.

Just to clarify: both applications were submitted while I was outside Thailand — first in Cambodia, then in Vietnam after I flew there

Now I want to apply by myself, without any agent.

My questions:

How long should I wait after two rejections before applying again?

Is there any official cooling-off period in the Thai system?

Does it matter which country I apply from (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia)?

Any real experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

I was recently rejected for my DTV visa. I meet all the requirements, I'm American but I applied in Korea where I have lived for 18 months with a digital nomad visa. My visa moved to pending approval status. I then traveled to Thailand and now a few days later it got rejected.

In the rejection email it's very broad, with no specific reason given. I later learned that you have to stay in the country where you apply from, I thought originally you just had to apply outside of Thailand and you were good to go.

My question is I will be going back to Korea soon to apply again, and will stay there the entire process. Does having a previous rejection cause any issues or red flags when applying for the same Visa 2 months later?

Thanks for the help.

I was rejected for the DTV in Ho Chi Minh back in October, and I plan to reapply from Indonesia in January.

Since the rejection, I’ve changed jobs and my income has changed. I’m worried that if the embassies share data, the difference in my income statement might look suspicious.

Has anyone successfully reapplied with a new job or different financial documents? I’d appreciate any advice on how to handle this!

Applied (from Japan) for soft power DTV (health & wellness); cancelled for "... docs do not meet .requirement for DTV". Used mult forums & AI to mirror examples from people that were approved for the same thing (in last 2 months). These were applicants with less financial stability, so maybe it depends on the consulate?

Reapplying under freelance as a portfolio manager, which is a significant amount of income, but not sure if they will accept. As you have to uploaded financial docs in a previous block; I wrote a letter for "Remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status" detailing my freelancer status.

Is this second attempt a bad mark for me?

If rejected/cancelled, should I go through an agent? I'm close to $700 down on this already and would like to not lose more money without a good explanation.

Should I get the METV for now, wait until I turn 50 (next year) & apply for non-DTV options that I am 100% qualified for?
