oh yes, it was definitely something i considered, its not a bad policy, but doesn't beat my cash ISAs back in UK and is easy access, unlike this policy
yeah cheers but I'm no newbie, lived here from 2002 to 2013, but granted it seemed a little easier back then, i think i banked with 3 different banks, and when i moved cities i done it all again when i found out shared services were almost non existent
while i would love to agree with your support for the banking system and all the posts stating it impossible, you seem to be avoiding the catch 22 situation many will find themselves in. I am on a non-o so the tourist thing was irrelevant, we need a bank account to deposit money before we can extend, but the new crack down in your words will not give bank account unless proved 3months of stable living, but our deadline is coincidentally 3 months, THE IRONY 🤦
The thing is, well other than 80% of u totally missed the point 🤣. They are stopping us from getting accounts because immigration have corrupt officers that sell the permission letters. But today I have had to reach out to a corrupt bank official, who will now open a bank account for me for a small fee of 3,000bt, make it make sense 🤦
Ok guys I've looked at wise, most i can send is £45k and they charge .53% for that transaction. £240, so yes a lot more reasonable. However many moons ago I always transferred from bank to bank, I was with Bangkok bank back then, their charges were next to nothing. So i will wait til I arrive and try get a new BK Bank account sorted, and yes I know they've toughened up on foreigners getting bank accounts
hmrc, then you say THAI TAX, 2 different entities 🤔. The thai tax hasn't kicked in yet, im safe this year, as for HMRC if its in a uk account it's legit money, otherwise the question would have been asked when depositing it
