I went to the border last year with a multi entry tourist visa and they still made me pay the 2000 for 60 days. I said I thought I didn't have to pay cause I have a visa and they said if I don't want to pay I will have to stay in Malaysia for 3 days. That was my experience when I went there last time, maybe it's not the same for everyone

Some people have issues and some don't, it's just the truth. Also you stayed out for a week so it doesn't draw as much attention as a one day border run does. I have lived in Thailand for the past 3 years doing border runs on visa exempt stamps and never once had an issue. But some people do 1 or 2 and get refused entry

last week I applied at the Sydney Thai Consulate late on a Thursday night 20th and I was approved on Sunday morning 23rd. I thought they only work on business days but I got approved on a Sunday morning

Bro it sounds like they understand your situation so they have asked you to come in for an interview rather than having to supply a birth certificate

Good work bro. Now that you know exactly what is needed the extensions will be a breeze for you. I'm sure you will get a million comments from Gumps saying you should have done a border run and sat in planes and airports all day 😉

I used Phuket King Muay Thai.

They are easy to communicate with and they supply the documents within a few hours after payment. Their DTV document package is very good.

hey mate what's the issue with the extension? I've seen a list of the requirements and it looks easy, almost the same as the original application.

I don't understand how the 500k thing is some big problem for people. It's only 500k, I would think most people that travel would have at least 500k in a bank to get by. Or is the issue they want the money in a Thai bank, is it something silly like that?

Does immigration dislike the DTV and are just denying people the extension for no real reason?

If you have the visa I think you need to use it and that means your passport needs at least 6 months left on it.

If you enter on a visa exempt 60 day stamp then you don't need to have 6 months left on your passport. Thailand doesn't have that 6 month passport rule like other countries. You only need to have enough time left on the passport for what you are stamped in on
