I’m looking for a good hotel in Ho Chi Minh City where I can stay for a while while waiting for a visa. If anyone has recommendations or experience with hotels in the city, I’d really appreciate it!

Morning all! We are heading to Hanoi for our dtv application in January. Can anyone recommend a nice budget friendly place that they stayed at? A lot of places seem to look nice but have some scary reviews.

Hello all! I am applying under soft activity Muai Thai at the London embassy and would love to hear what successful applicants have filled under the Accommodation in Thailand. I plan to book a hotel for a couple of weeks while I find a condo for the long term. If I fill the hotel and then mark additional accommodation I would have to put details but obviously I don't have them yet. Thanks in advance.

For those of you in Thailand on a DTV visa — is Rawai a good place to base yourself as this is where I’ve seen a decent Muay Thai gym under the soft power visa, or would you recommend another area of Phuket?

While I’m out there, I’d love to connect with others into fitness/gym life and digital nomads. Would you recommend renting a motorbike or a car, and what are the typical costs? I know motorbikes are easy to rent, but I only have an international driving license (not a motorbike one), so I’m not sure how that works.

Same with accommodation — did you sort it once you arrived or book in advance? Roughly what are the monthly costs for a decent place in Phuket?

Also, how did you go about meeting like-minded people? I’d like to avoid feeling isolated, as I’m moving from the UK and hoping to meet people into fitness, good vibes, and community.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated as I’m getting flights to Phuket booked and sorting putting things into storage back home in the UK currently preparing to move. Thanks in advance!

Hello all.

So I'm an American in the Bangkok area and I'm coming up on my 60 days and want to get a 30 day extension. So I'm seeing the forms I think I need to fill out but am unsure if the condo where I'm staying should provide any info on where I'm staying or if i need to fill out something myself.

I know I need a passport photo and a copy of my passport to provide to immigration.

I was hoping that someone who's done this could give me a little guidance.

I would appreciate any help.

During the application process, I assume not everyone already has a condo lined up before moving out there. Do you just put the hotel that you’ll be staying at for the first couple weeks or whatever as your living situation? Will that suffice?
