How do you get 9 months on 6 month multi entry visa?

We r planing to spend a few months in SEAsia starting asap, most likely: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia (maybe Malaysia n Indonesia), I have 2 passports (Argentinian & USA) and my gf Russian, I lived in SEAsia for 6years before covid and I used to know all the possibities visa wise but things have changed... What is the best strategy right now? where to land first, any country doesnt let u cross by land any longer (but only flying to) from another neighbor country? I dont know if any covid related thing is still on place or any visa (run) has changed, thanks in advance...

I am a US citizen currently in Thailand on a TR visa 30 day extension. Before the TR visa I was on an extension of stay based on an OA. The TR is a temporary solution until I return to the USA on Nov 1 and apply for an new OA.

So I need to cross the border by Sept 26 and buy another TR visa to cover the time to Nov 1. I was going to travel from Chiang Mai to Savannakhet for the new TR but having read about tourist visa denials I am concerned about applying at that crossing with my visa profile.

I would welcome any advice. If Savannakhet is problematic for me, what are my best alternatives from Chiang Mai? Kind thanks.

I am here on the amnesty for a tourist visa extension. I will go back to USA before July 31st. I would like to maximize my chances of being allowed back in during November, as I am having a house built with an eye towards long-term residency. I'm thinking people with long-term visas might have a better chance than those trying to come back on a tourist visa.

Would it make sense to apply for a non-O visa based on retirement, even though I am planning to leave before the end of July? I have read on the Thai Embassy website that the period of stay is only 90 days, but it also says if you get a multiple entry visa, the visa is good for one year. Does that mean I could leave in July and I would get a new period of stay when I come back in November? And then I could apply for the one-year extension of stay when I return in November? I meet the age requirement, and already have my Thai bank account and the money needed (but not deposited yet.) I also have a pension that would qualify, but I don't think I can get a letter from the US Embassy now.

Sorry this is so complicated, but that's just how they make it for us.

Hello everyone. My friend (US Passport) is considering which embassy or consulate to visit for a SETV. Her passport history:

-Jan 2018 on METV;

-August 2018 Ed Visa for Introductory Thai;

-June 2019 30-day on arrival;

-July 2019 second Ed Visa for Chinese (expires April 1).

She wants to get a SETV before April 1. She's been told to go to Kuala Lumpur, then cross by land back into Thailand.

Can anyone confirm that this is the best consulate/strategy to avoid problems?

She plans on retiring here on her birthday in Nov. 2020 and would combine SETV, overseas travel, and her 2 yearly land crossings to make it to her birthday in November.

Hey everyone, first of all thanks for welcoming me to the group,

I am currently in Savannakhet with my girlfriend ( not civil union or marriage ) and I have been puzzled about certain visa regulations. I have a non imm B with a work permit but my girlfriend cannot be dependent on my visa as there is no recognized union between us. Today at the Thai consulate in savannakhet she was refused a 60 days tourist visa and the consulate said it was because she had done too many. However, she has only done one 60 days tourist visa in 2019, one exemptions of 30 days coming in from Laos, and another exemption of 30 days, after leaving Thailand for a month, and arriving on an international flight from Paris.

The consulate made it very clear that her only option to re enter Thailand was a transit visa to get her belongings and leave, with no possibility of return before 2020. We eventually took this option after a long debate with consulate staff.

My question is, in her situation would there have been any alternative? And more importantly now that she has a 30 day transit visa is there anything we can do so she can stay longer or will she actually have to stay outside Thailand until 2020?

I am thinking about moving to Bangkok for a year and would like to do tourist visa. I currently have 2 ed visas in my passport. Don’t know if that will affect anything?

I would like to ask if anyone have experience or knowledge about doing 2 months tourist visa+extension and then repeat that process every 3 months for 1 year.

I am thinking to go to a different country for the tourist visa every time and stay there a few days so immigration will not think i only go for the visa and quickly comes back. I will use flights and not use border crossing with bus or so.

Should I be worried every time i go out and back or will immigration ask me questions after i have 2 or more tourist visas??

Hope someone have tried this and can tell how it went.
