Google told me that my International Drivers Permit and UK License can cover me for 1 year driving in Thailand.

I have the DTV, so does that 1 year cover renew every time I re-enter Thailand after the 180 days of the DTV?

QUESTION ABOUT THE DTV :

Do I strictly have to apply for it at the Thai Embassy of my home country or can I also do that at an Embassy in one of the surrounding countries near to Thailand.

I m asking because I m living in Thailand for 5 years now , until now with a workpermit / visa , working for a Thai company.

Now I want to switch, working for a Foreign company online

I’m currently in Phuket on an OA retirement visa. Phuket immigration allows a combination of 400000b bank balance plus monthly pension payments of at least 400000b to give the required 800000b total. Do the same rules apply elsewhere? I will shortly be moving to Trang province and I’m not sure.

Hi, I'm sure this has been addressed many times. Update: I should edit this. Am looking to purchase a house in Thailand. When looking to purchase property in Thailand, do we get the Thai bank account first before the visa (retirement) and purchase ? The rules keep changing and now I am not sure which order it should be.

- have to do normal 90 day report

- I arrived with DTV Feb 28 so will do my 90 day around mid May.

BUT since it’s 180 days; technically I’d need to leave the country to renter Aug 27.

- is it possible to extend at immigration in Chiang mai or can I do land border run/go for example to Laos and back same day? (Ps I am on the Maui thai DTV route)

Just want to double check - anyone living in cm can you let me know also how you did this?

Have any of you had success gaining a DTV working as an online teacher of English using a TEFL qualification through a UK based teaching agency?

Asking because that's one of the options for my wife and I in a couple of years once I retire from primary school teaching here in the UK, as the security deposit is lower than the retirement visa, and the DTV gives me options to top up the pension with a bit of income.

Any advice/opinions greatfully received. 👍👍

Need help … currently me and my wife are holding tourist visa valid till 8th June . We took this visa urgently as my wife is diagnosed with ovarian cancer and shall get her first chemotherapy in a hospital in Bangkok … as per doctor , she needs 5 cycles and that would end by end June or 1 st week of July .. how can I get multiple entry approval till my current visa ends and how can I extend the period for another 30 days . I'm so pissed off about some comments here. I've got the visa, I can work here remotely for overseas companies, I can pay taxes here, I can stay here for 5 years (with flights every 6 months). I don't have to pretend I'm a tourist, because I'm not, and it's clearly stated in my visa and my other documents. Period.

Are you a lawyer and want to force people to use your services? Why do you spread misinformation?
