Hi all hope you can help. I visited Thailand for two weeks in February and seven weeks June/ July on visa except ( Irish passport). I may have to come over for another week or two in September/ October. Would it be safer to apply for tourist visa next time. Planning on doing retirement non O next year

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the necessity of applying for a tourist visa for an upcoming trip to Thailand after having previously visited multiple times within a year on an exempt basis. Community responses suggested a few strategies: applying for a 60-day tourist visa online, considering a multiple entry tourist visa from Ireland, or obtaining a Non-O visa instead to avoid potential scrutiny at immigration. Some participants noted that a single entry tourist visa may not be beneficial and that recent visits might not cause issues, reinforcing that the immigration officer's discretion is crucial.

If you're worried about entry get a Non-O this time, just as easy as a Tourist Visa and not that much more expensive. You could also get a bank account then if you don't yet have one.

No way opening a bank account solely on that O visa. There are more things involved. Your post should be deleted.

Single entry Tourist visa won’t help, it will only make it look sketchier from my experience. If you want you can actually get from Ireland a multiple entry tourist visa which at least has some advantages over the single entry one

I have visited several times in one year and not had an issue. If you wanted to play safe get a 60 day visa from the Thailand embassy in your country online, but at the end of the day the immigration officer your appear with is the ultimate determining factor.
