Hi all. I've been using Wise for paying rent, deposit and such but Thailand is not supported as an account with acc number to receive money transferred from others.
So as my rental contract is ending, Im curious what are the options to receive back my deposit besides in cash (just in case) when I don't have a TL bank account (couldnt open)? If u have experienced this before please let me know.
Slightly off topic but a segment off requirements for a long term extension. I am UK based passport bank account etc. For transferring the required sums I have hit a brick wall with my bank. They do not send money to Thailand. I am looking for recommendations for a 3rd party way, any recommendations from people in the same situation would be very much appreciated
Ok- I have a question for all my Wise Banking American ex-Pats:
When I'm moving money from my Wells Fargo to wise and then Wise to a Thai bank account should I exchange the funds to Baht and then deposit them s Baht to the Thai bank account?
Does that make sense? Or just do a USD dorectly into my Thai bank account?
Okay I have the next dumb question. My buddy is trying to transfer money from Bank of America to Bank of Thailand. He's doing a wire transfer and he's not using wise so let wise go. When we went to do the transfer it asked did we want to use Thai baht, US dollars or euros. We did an experimental run of a thousand US dollars. We chose Thai baht and it gave us an exchange rate of 31.61. not a great exchange rate. Now the question is should we have picked US dollars and then let Bank of Bangkok convert it. Please let us know what you guys think would be the best choice in this quest to bring money to Thailand.
I was using Wise to send money from the U.S. to my wife's account in Thailand (TTB). Any suggestions for a replacement since Wise says "this bank no longer accepts cross-border remittances." Does this mean Wise or all electronic transfer systems?
Hello there, asking for advice regarding money transfers to the EU (Austria). I have been sending money to my daughter (just small amounts, less than EUR 800 every other month) via Western Union without any problems. Last Thursday they suddenly declined and asked me to fill in a document requiring the birth certificate of my daughter, my pension certificate and what not. I find that a bit too much, especially given the fact that they accept payments into Thailand without much ado. Anybody knows a way around or a better option to send money to the EU? My bank, Krungsri, is asking horrendous fees.
