I would be more worried about various , car or motorcycle rentals than those you have listed , it’s very common to take copies of your passport in many situations.

If you don’t feel comfortable giving them your passport to copy , do about 10 copies & carry them with you .

Visa agents may hold passports whilst things are pending for up to a week or more .

It needed to show my address

And passport number were on my

Records with AIS

It’s hit & miss at the moment the more you read , however having a Non-O is a big plus .

Depending on which area you will reside , you may have to go to many banks to eventually open an account

Sadly I’m hearing this too often at the moment , as mentioned you will just have to keep trying at other banks outside of Samui .

Yes Bangkok bank are freezing accounts and checking if all details match , if you are in Thailand you need to go into a branch update all details particularly phone & photo . I had to get a statement from my AIS with my address & passport number even though it’s been done before
