Hi all, just got a bank account with Krungthai who were very helpful and will be making my deposit soon ,, Someone here once said when you apply for your 90 day O from your own country immigration don't usually ask for proof of o/s funds ? if anyone can confirm that it would be appreciated as i'll be going through wise and the 400 baht i just sent as a tester was coded DXSDT which i believe means cash transfer.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the banking and funds transfer requirements for obtaining a 90-day Non-O visa in Thailand. Users confirm that when applying for this visa from their home country, immigration typically does not require proof of overseas funds. It is noted that the requirement might only arise if changing visa types from a tourist visa to a Non-O visa upon entering Thailand, where proof of funds (either 400,000 or 800,000 THB) in a Thai bank account is needed. There is also a focus on using services like Wise for money transfer, with insights on coding and charges.

Thanks Greg and i think i heard this from you before, what made me ask was when i sent 400 baht to my account as a test i did use the options given by wise but when i checked the code they used and googled it just said it meant cash transfer but wont matter now you guys have cleared it up for me, many thanks.
Non O in home country doesn't require Thai bank funds. But after you enter on that 90 day permit you'll need the appropriate funds seasoned in your Thai bank to get the 12 month extension
WISE offers an option to get you transfer coded as coming in from abroad. You need to check when you use WISE, they will ask you . . . . . . However I can guarantee you, if you have entered on a 90-days Non-Imm-O Visa, Immigration will not require this proof. . . . Only when you do a touristic entry and apply for the "change of visa type" inside Thailand from the touristic entry to the initial 90-days Non-Imm-O Visa, you need the proof that the 800K deposit had come from abroad
When using Wise lately there has always been the option to say whether it is an international transfer, if you want to record this. As people have already said, it is not a requirement for the initial 400k or 800k deposit.
Thanks guys did both the options of long term stay for reason and yes for it to be international but if you read further under the yes option this is not always the case and wise advise to talk to the bank and that is the reason i asked here because my test send of 400 baht did not state international transfer.
ThrillingKoala6126 totally agree and the bank exchange rate is terrible whilst wise give good exchange, depending on amounts you can lose quite a sum doing by bank.
Thanks john i did see that here once and it will be for when i do the extension, just thought i would ask and the advise from you folk has helped me a lot on this journey
