I’m coming to Thailand next month. Can I get a 90 day tourist visa or 90? Day Visa as I want to retire in Thailand? I was unable to get a non-o as the the online application form would not download my bank statements. I am going to open a bank account when I arrive in Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is planning to travel to Thailand and is inquiring about obtaining a 90-day tourist visa or a Non-O visa, as they intend to retire in the country. They faced difficulties with the online application for the Non-O visa due to issues uploading bank statements, which they plan to address by opening a bank account in Thailand upon arrival. Commenters provide guidance on the necessity of securing the Non-O visa before traveling, tips on merging bank statements for application purposes, and caution regarding bank account openings on a tourist visa.

Chris Williams I was on a retirement Visa in Thailand up to about 10 years ago. The reason I returned to Australia is because I had cancer and now that that is all good I did have a Thai bank account in Thailand I also have a Thai house book and ThaiID card and Drivers Licence and my old passport with all the old retirement Visa stamps in it so I’m hoping they will be lenient at immigration

If you don't get the 90 day Non-O visa before travelling to Thailand you won't be able to open a bank account.

To upload your bank statements they need to be merged into a single file. Lots of free PDF merger app about. Also will be hard to open a bank account without a None O visa.

The Thai embassy online

will take bank statements in the correct format

I would persevere or get someone to assist with applying for a Non-O outside Thailand

To open bank account here you will need deep pockets on a tourist Visa

You just need to convert your three months last bankstatments or receipts from your salary/income into PDF-files and merge them together as one PDF-file for uploading. Should be no issues.
