I'm with SCB, there are limits for sending from my scb account to other thai bank accounts. Even though I registered my passport, phone, pink ID etc I'm still limited to 40k per transaction and 100k per day. This is for outgoing. I'm not aware of any limit for incoming. The bank told me i could register my passport to increase transfer limits, but it didn't work the first time.

I've never been able to find a document that lists a coverage amount for tricare, since there isn't one. Where did you get that?

Are you saying they are switching to evisa? Or asking me if they are. I don't know, that's why I asked.

Take a month off. The Visa is 5 years and multientry, you can't stay more than 180 days. It's required that you not be in Thailand continuously by it's nature.

I would sign up for muay thai and get a DTV. I don't understand people saying it's not for you. You are going to come and go for five years and each time you come to Thailand you will be on vacation. The parent of a child visa is a huge amount of work. Take a chance with DTV first.

It's strange that you need to provide proof of flying to thailand. It's a five year visa, why do you have to go there directly or make a reservation now?

Thanks Graham, how would anyone know what year the money I take out of an ATM in Thailand was earned in? Maybe I only bring in money that was earned prior to January 1, 2024 for instance.

I had a bad experience with the US embassy in Bangkok and filed a complaint. It was routed back to the embassy. Apparently they are accountable to no one.
