not really a tourist married with house in Thailand just a frequent flyer. I send money to my Thai account every month. using a credit card cost me nothing and get the best exchange rate over a 30 day period.

it was not non stop in and out the country very frequently. but actually credit cards are very effective maximizing exchange rates. Taking 20,000 out and paying a 1.1% fee is nothing. i have a thai bank account but still use my Singapore credit because that’s where my income is
