I have an electronic LTR visa and have entered twice. Each time I enter it takes some time for them to figure what it is all about. Then I am stamped through. I guess there is no way around this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The delay in processing your electronic LTR visa at entry points in Thailand is due to the relative newness of this visa type. Many immigration officers are unfamiliar with the LTR visa, resulting in extended processing times as they seek assistance or confirmation from supervisors.

It’s new. Not many people have them yet. The “line” officers don’t see them often (if ever) so it confuses them. Not really a way around it other than time for them to become used to it.
It's not because you have an electronic LTR. It's because you have an LTR. I go through the same thing every time I enter Thailand as well. Takes them forever to figure it out. The first time they called 2 levels of supervisors over.
Ditto for me with the LTR visa stamp in my passport - the guy took about five minutes to stare repeatedly at the visa and the pages before it, look at a chart on the wall, look at his computer, look back at the passport, pick up and put down a few stamps, and then he finally stamped me in incorrectly (he gave me five years from that date, not from the visa approval date). I didn't bother to point out the error, since I knew I would leave again within a few weeks anyway.
hopefully they get more used to it as time goes on. My biggest issue is my passport expires 2 weeks before the 5 years so my visa is only valid until then. It takes them about 10 minutes until they ask me why the date is that way.
also had a difficult time checking in when flying back to Thailand from Japan earlier this month. The checkin staff kept asking a million questions about my visa.
