Odd that, should be the press of a button - a number of my social circle all use WISE from UK never any issues - major banks hate wise of course so maybe they try to stymie them in certain locations …..different strokes for different folks…..

the penalty is discretionary it’s not system driven (as is the case of overstay) I had a similar issue during Covid, was two weeks late and I apologized and explained to the IO he was understanding and waived any penalty….

The banks are asking for your cell provider to confirm your phone is linked to a passport and address which in turn matches your bank account, Go to your cell phone provider and they will give you a printed slip with your details which you then take to your bank and they will unblock your online banking overnight….pain in the butt, as banks are busy with lots of other accounts holders doing the same thing but its for our own protection I guess.
