I have applied for LTR visa under pensioners category. The folks at Thai Board of Investment are unwilling to accept balance in the money market fund with Fidelity and asking me to provide proof of Thai insurance with minimum coverage of $50K. I am seeking your suggestion for the cheapest health insurance provider acceptabtle for visa purpose. I am looking for the cheapest one as my current insurance coverage will continue indefinitely and I don’t want to pay for expensive coverage when I already have one.
Also if I get the coverage, can it be from a future date as I don’t plan to move to Thailand until November. Those who have got OA visa from US may know this as they may have obtained health insurance. Thank you all!
Which type of travel health insurance do you recommend for Thailand?
I plan to stay 2 or 3 months as a tourist. I am from a small country in South East Europe. Should I have it from my country or from some international provider? Or maybe I can have local health insurance from Thailand?
Of course, I am healthy, but just in case to have it.
Hello, has someone gotten a one year non-imm OA visa extension recently at Chaeng Wattans and what was the required health insurance. I asked my insurance broker for an estimate with the new rule of 3 000 000 bath coverage instead of the 400 000 baths with a Thai approved company and he said that it depends of the immigration center??? Apparently some centers apply the new rule, some don't? Also it seems you can use your international insurance, for the last 2 years I bought a Thai policy that I never used, so I would very much like to use my own European insurance but I have read that the policy must be approved by an embassy. What is that? Thanks for your input
