so i am married to a Thai National i can come in 30 days visa exempt then get 30 days extension and then get a 90 day non o based on marriage within thailand right? for a total of 150 days. the 400,000 amount is for applying for the 12 month marriage visa. I don’t want to apply for non-o in my country because i need my passport for traveling before i go to Thailand

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about entering Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt, extending for another 30 days, and applying for a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage. Comments clarify the requirement of 400,000 baht in the bank to apply for the Non-O visa within Thailand and suggest alternative options for extending their stay without proof of funds.

You are mistaken. Unless you come from a country whose consulate here issues an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter stating you get at least 40K baht a month in income from abroad you need to have the 400K baht in your account BEFORE you apply for the 90 day Non-O visa inside the country at the immigration office. and for the year extension that 400K baht needs to be in your account for 2 months before you apply.

here's a thought, get a single entry tourist visa, come in get stamped in for 60 days, extend that the ONE time you can for 30 days then apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension based on marriage. That gives you FIVE months in country with NO proof of funds.

you MIGHT be able to get around the 400K baht in a thai bank account for the Non-O visa based on marriage IF the Netherlands consulate here issues an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter stating you get over 40K baht a month in income from abroad. <- That is the ONLY way you'd get around banking the 400K baht to get the Non-O

i think the main thing I was getting at was for the 3 month non-o I should not need the money requirement that’s only for the longer 12 month marriage visa
Tod *********
@Jo *********
yep that was not correct, you just don't need the money to be seasoned in the account for 2 months when you apply for the 90 day visa

Interesting, it appears you're correct. I assumed the E-visa was rolled out to all embassies, but apparently it hasn't been.

Yes

You can do what you describe but you'll need 400k in the bank to get the 90 day non O.

There's the 60 day family extension another mentioned which doesn't require money. Also, if you know you will definitely leave, they have extended the special tourist visa which gives up to 270 days. Critical with this though is you have to leave when it's up, it can't be converted into something else in country.
