it was a Non O retirement visa!

I am not sure what happened to be honest! I thought I was about to be kicked out of Thailand after living there for 26 years, and they let me believe that for a while until, somebody else came to me saying there is a fine of
*****
baht and am I willing to pay? I said yes of course and after a lot of time and paperwork I was able to renew my Non O visa!

Don’t ask me how it worked as I don’t know! Just know to be more careful next time!

Happened to me a couple of years ago! Think overstayed by about 16 days! Went to immigration not even realising I was well past my date to extend! A lot of surprises from the immigration staff! But in the end they were very helpful, and after paying a
*****
baht fine, was given an extension and all back to normal!

Best thing you can possibly do is go over there for a couple of weeks holiday and see for yourselves! You may not even like the place!

I have been with the Bangkok Bank, the Kasikorn bank and the last 18 years with the SCB! Never had any problems with anything!

If you can’t speak Thai, you better try to learn English!

@Steve *******
you are correct! An onward ticket out of Thailand would also have been acceptable!

Last time I flew Emirates, from Manchester, before COVID kicked off, and I had a non O retirement visa, they still would not let me board the plane unless I had a return ticket!

I had the same problem! I was ok because after the money I took out, I still had over 3 months before my visa extension was due! They advised, if it was less than 3 months, I would have to start over again for the whole procedure of applying for a retirement visa!
