TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion criticizes the frequency of seemingly absurd and unanswerable questions posted in a Thailand-focused expat community, such as inquiries about the best hotel, weather, and food choices. Many participants express frustration, humor, and a mix of valid points about the need for better research before asking questions while also acknowledging the entertainment these inquiries can provide. There is an underlying tone that emphasizes the importance of community interaction and the varied motivations behind people's questions.
I have mixed Feelings about asking for Advice . I have a Thai Wife to help me with Advice . I try and be specific when I ask for advice -It helps me to get a better answer . I find most people are kind and helpful in their advice . There are afew A,,,,,,,s ... But most of the people on any forum are kind .
I live in Thailand for 17 years..this is a forum...where people can learn from each other..

What's the craziest question I can ask about Thailand?
Frank **********
I totally agree, some people are lazy and want someone else to do the research for them However asking recommendations for a good place to eat is legit.
those questions have to be area specific. People can say where is the best place in Bangkok for Pad Thai or a hamburger. But questions like does it get hot in Thailand or does it rain during the wet season are ridiculous.
why do you laugh? You said that was a legit question.

I have noticed over the years that the people that ask the stupidest questions about coming to Thailand end up spending the most money in the local economies they are in, simply because they don't know any better, and too lazy to spend anymore time than it takes to buy their plane ticket, and book their hotels. They are great for the Thai local economies, so don't complain about them. Remember, there is dual pricing in Thailand. One price for people that know what's going on, and another price for the lazy tourist.
Totally agree .. Always said if you are coming to Thailand, work on YOU .. your mental & physical health.. be prepared for anything and relax ..

I remember when I was volunteering in Kampot Cambodia in this waterpark hostel complex in the moddle of jungle/river and people rated the place only with 1 star cos it was raining and there was bugs... Like wtf people?

6. **Best Place to Go in Thailand**: "Your heart says beaches, your soul says temples, and your stomach says street food. Thailand says, 'Why not all?' π ππ’"

Where in Thailand can someone get their scrolling thumb repaired so people don't waste time writing paragraphs about posts and can just scroll by?
Fair call mate I've been thinking the same about a lot of posts, but each to there own, I see the silly question posts and scroll on, but

some people actually lack the IQ to sort simple stuff out.

as weather is unpredictable in winter we get the same constant questions in Spain. It can be beautiful but tomorrow can be cold & wet. How can you predict ? Itβs getting tiresome. I enjoyed Thailand but hated Pattaya as is more for the men. I do think weather more predictable but agree with you. Why donβt people research before they book flights at various times of year or always ?
I don't know if people realise but it is not compulsory to enter threads that you have no interest in or helpful advice about. The term " just Google it " can now be superseded by " just scroll past " . It works , i know , i have done it ! π²ππ

Are there Unanswerable Questions Anonymous meetings in Thailand?
yes, but your Thai girlfriend better be doing the driving and she needs a motorcycle license. Otherwise, she is risking (you) of having to fork over 1000 Baht on spot or have the bike impounded.

If this really bothers you. Then maybe it's time for you to return back home.
It is and people tend to overlook that and insist people use Google instead. You'll get better and more personal info in FB groups.

I mean, some people don't mind answering these questions with the knowledge that they have, but if it bothers you, simply don't respond. not a big deal.
So itβs Still ok to ask where the best place to exchange money in Vietnam is? as Iβm planning a trip to Malaysia in 2027 and might go to DaNang for 1 night! π€£π€¦πΌββοΈπ€£
good question. Unless itβs a statement. But most sensible people would only ask in here if they had first explored all other avenues? Well I would anyway.
yes, no other place in the world is quite like Thailand. It has something for everyone and anyone. Great food choices, world classs entertainment; good infrastructure, shopping; exotic Buddhist temples; shope for jade, gold, silver, etc. Party, drink, eat till you drop. All within most people's budget.
The title of this page seems to indicate to me that all of those questions are reasonable. Maybe you need to stay out of the sun, off the booze (or gear) and chill out. People are free to ask about VISA ADVISE AND EVERYTHING ELSE.
I guess you didn't take any Geography courses in high school or college. You would have known that much of Thailand is located in the tropical zone latitudes. Subtropical in the northern areas. Asking where's the best place to eat is like asking where's the best place to eat in the U.S.A.
