TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual has an expired visa as of January 14 and believed it expired on February 14. The community responded with advice, indicating eligibility for an extension might still apply, along with payment of an overstay fine. It's recommended to contact immigration as soon as possible, as fines can accrue for overstays, which are typically ฿500 per day. Previous experiences shared highlight that despite overstays, extensions can be granted after fines are paid, and one person's experience varied significantly from the usual fines, suggesting complexities in immigration rules.

Happened to me a couple of years ago! Think overstayed by about 16 days! Went to immigration not even realising I was well past my date to extend! A lot of surprises from the immigration staff! But in the end they were very helpful, and after paying a

baht fine, was given an extension and all back to normal!
I am not sure what happened to be honest! I thought I was about to be kicked out of Thailand after living there for 26 years, and they let me believe that for a while until, somebody else came to me saying there is a fine of

baht and am I willing to pay? I said yes of course and after a lot of time and paperwork I was able to renew my Non O visa!
Don’t ask me how it worked as I don’t know! Just know to be more careful next time!
I replied to Dave Athertons comment, he said he overstayed by 16 days, so 16 days at ฿500 a day overstay fine = ฿8000 + ฿1900 extension = ฿9900, I don't understand how his fine was ฿16,000, I'm missing something but I don't know what 😅

Take action, get in touch with Immigration, sooner than later.
If you get stopped on the streets, then you will have to leave Thailand immidiately.
They use facerecognition with cctv and in patrolcars, with the picture taken when entered Thailand.

Using your phone calendar as a reminder and alert does wonders. I use it for many things. You can pick different times when you want to be reminded. Good luck

What visa did you stamp in with? If you're eligible for an extension you should be able to still apply for an extension and pay your overstay fine. You'll still get an overstay stamp in you passport but shouldn't be any other issues.
The rule most immigration offices follow is that you can apply for your extension if you're on overstay until you would receive 10 days or less from the extension. So if you have a tourist visa or visa exempt and can apply for the 30 day extension, you could be on up to 20 days of overstay and still apply, but anything over that and you cannot apply since you would receive less than 10 days.
