Hi everyone,

Swiss citizen here.

I’m planning to apply for the DTV this December as a self-employed person.

The idea is to run a webshop (launching in October) via a UK Ltd, while being based in Hua Hin from mid-February.

Does anyone know if a official registered company is required for the DTV application?

Or would it be enough to submit a business plan, proof of the webshop, and a signed declaration that I’m self-employed?

Thanks a lot for any insights or personal experience!

Hi there

So we are 2 ladies want to retire to Thailand.

Have 2 dogs, 2 cats

Where do we even start?

We know we need to open an account and deposit $$. Not a problem

Anything we should bring from Canada? I heard sheets cost alot and are only 1.

Electronics? Any other things people brought or regret not bringing?

Any advice would be great ,

When to apply and what visas to start with.

Can we or should we if we come visit, secure accomodations to live.

We plan to sell everything in Canada.

Hua hin is the area we will start with.

Negative comments not needed

I have an extension of stay stamp based on Thai wife. I just read a post about someone needing to get a new extension of stay based on retirement and some of you kindly told them what they needed to take to immigration. In reading it, it dawned on me, what the heck am I doing all this "stuff" for the Thai wife stamp when I can simplify the process and just go with the retirement stamp. The witness, the Kors, the pics, the blue book, wife's ID, map, etc. Almost double the paperwork! Can I just apply for the retirement extension of stay next time I go for the stamp? I already know about the 800K requirement. Has anyone changed over? Any information is greatly appreciated. Btw, I live in Hua Hin.
