Help please am confused maybe because I'm clocking on. Am thinking applying for DTV on medical grounds. I have been told I need letter from thai doctor after appointment, does that mean I fly from UK get letter then fly back to apply? I have heart disease and have evidence letter from my UK consultant. As I'm a widower my plan was to visit various hospitals and enter a treatment plan based on cost. I would be flying home after stays and coming back. Sorry if I'm boring you but not sure what do or apply for.

For those of you who have retired in Thailand with the money in the bank to do so. Have any of you taken any health insurance out through the bank?

If so, can share your thoughts!

Thank you!

Do you need a health insurance policy for the DTV? If yes, then for how long?

This falls under the " & More" category and if there is a better group for this question, please let me know.

Has anyone else developed lung nodules shortly after moving to Thailand? If so, what was the testing and treatment you received.

Hello, really sorry if this is an obvious question or stupid. I have done lots of research but not clear. I plan to come to Thailand on DTV to have surgery in Bangkok (will have proof). I need a specialist & waiting times in UK Via NHS is 18+ months, private costs are extortionate, whereas Bangkok, specialist consultant can see me within months and £10k rather than £20k+ in UK! Am I right that if my husband moves with me we EACH need £11k GBP in our bank accounts to meet DTV requirements and EACH need to apply for a DTV? Any advice / answers would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Maybe there is no answer to this… to get a medical DTV you need a doctors approval of some sort. Assume you have a legit issue for the visa, how is a doctor in thailand supposed to know it’s legit and can therefore sign the letter? Am I understanding right when i say the doctors letter almost necessitates a visit to thailand? So youd see the doctor, hed confirm your condition and that perhaps you need minimum say 6 months of appointments.

I just visited my dentist here in Thailand to ask for the documents required for the DTV visa. They scheduled appointments for a 6-month treatment plan but didn’t ask me to pay anything upfront. Is that normal? I even asked if I could pay something in advance 😂.

The staff told me I could pay whatever amount I wanted 😂. How much would it be reasonable to pay upfront in this situation?

Anyone experience with the 'medical' category?

I'm too sick for Muay Thai and don't like cooking.

I have contacted numerous hospitals. One replied initially but when I asked to confirm the appointments, they never replied.

Is it a mistake to mention the DTV? Better just ask for the apointments and not scare them? But I will need them to provide a nice paper with letterhead and all...

Please share Dr. recommendations in the chat. I'm mostly looking for nutrient testing and nutrition consulting.

Anybody had problems with Pacific Cross not paying hospital bills? Any advice? We are in the hospital and having problems with them paying the bill.

P.S. Please, I'm looking ONLY for opinions/advice from those who have or have had Pacific Cross insurance, not opinions of insurance or other companies to consider. So, no rants and opinions about the pros and cons of insurance. Thanks.
