no. You can only get the extension inside of Thailand with having 500,000 baht in the bank after obtaining a single entry Non O visa as a dependent abroad.

They won't change it over and neither will any land border.

I'd be more concerned if she goes the whole hog and involves the Labor dept for an investigation into anything you may have done in previous years

Immigration won't swap tourist visa extensions over and you cannot swap passports at a land border
