FYI

The Hull Thai consulate in the UK has issued a news bulletin regarding the application of Non Immigrant visas at UK consulates. Best to read how they require the application to be done, before simply going there any longer and attempt to lodge the documents directly.

They have also updated their requirements to issue a ME tourist visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Hull Thai consulate in the UK has updated its procedures for applying for Non Immigrant visas. Applicants are now required to email their documents before visiting the consulate in person. This change streamlines the application process, which many expats have found to be efficient, with approvals often coming within a week. Additionally, there are new requirements for obtaining a ME tourist visa.

This has been applicable for over a year. Painless, simple and efficient. Even the journey there is pleasure with little traffic.

actually it hasn't. Up until very recently, you could simply lodge your application at the consulates or email them first, then wait until they had received the OK from London. Now you have to email the documents and not walk in with them. Hence the need for them to put the news briefing out.

Same here, emailed all documents to Hull, emailed be back within 7 days, approved and told to go to Hull with payment as it was approved. No drama.

I just did this for an ED VISA, emailed all the docs to Hull they check then send to London, then London confirm with hull and then you go to Hull in person with your passport and other docs and pay the money. Was very straight forward. Took less than a week.

nice one, but somehow I do not really believe that if you apply for the 1 year Non Immigrant O-A visa using on line in london, get the approved,, do the payment, sent all to the Embassy and get a Single Entry Tourist Visa stamped in your passport.

it says that if you use the London embassy you won’t find out if your application is successful or not until you get your passport back. As opposed to using their service where they tell you if you’ll get the visa you asked for or not after you’ve sent them the documents, and before you go there.

you cannot apply for an O-A visa at a UK consulate. But, in fairness, the London Thai Embassy does give a warning, that in the event of an O-A VISA or any visa being declined they CAN just substitute the application by issuing a tourist visa.
