# When applying for a Non Immigrant 'O' for dependent - does that parent need to show proof of:

* Travel insurance.

* Bank statements [parent of foreigner child].

* Accommodation in Chiang Mai?

# In the check list it does not include these documents, but just wondering if they are an unwritten requirement?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about whether certain documents, such as travel insurance, bank statements, and proof of accommodation, are necessary when applying for a Non Immigrant 'O' visa for a foreign parent's child in Thailand. While the checklist does not specify these documents, the question arises if they are implied requirements. Comments suggest confusion about the type of visa, with mentions that it may be referred to as a 'guardian visa' instead.

It's actually called a guardian visa.

@Kool ******
it's a Non Immigrant 'O' for dependant.

You're free to call it what you like.

based on being the guardian of a child, or dependent of someone with a non-B, based on being the spouse of someone on an extension of stay based on retirement...all have different requirements hence the use of the guardian visa name.

KL doesn't even mention being able to obtain a dependent visa based on a Non Thai child
