go to thai embassy website in UK before you leave , and apply for 90 days retirement visa Non O and if over 50 only, when you arrive in thailand you got one month to sort a thai bank account and then leave 400k or 800k baht in there for 2 months, you then apply for extension of retirement visa, giving you longer stay, you also need health insurance and various medicals some testing for STD;s good luck

Just to let you know , that when I paid for my visa through UK thai embassy the money I paid for visa the transfer went to kasikorn bank , so that tells me one thing , if there own thai goverment is using kasikorn bank it must be good .

you would think long as the money in the Thai bank , it dont matter where it came from . My granny could have given me cash from under her bed :-)

Been told I can bring 9k pounds, via aeroplane, so if I do that twice that's the 800k bht required, so is this possible and will they accept pounds in cash at thai bank.

accountant charge rip off charges, you earn good money you should be able to retire and enjoy life. But if you want to work as an accountant remotely you should be able to get the DTV no problem . Get a visa lawyer , then it's no hassle and no problem. Siam legal in Bangkok
