I am confused with 90 day reporting , I got my non 0 retire visa extension one year with multiple entry , I left to come back to UK for reasons , my passport was not stamped anything to say I left thailand. , so do I do my first 90 day reporting online even I am not there ? , or do I do it when I come back into the kingdom, and will I have something stamped in passport to say I have gained entry again the day I come back . I have a one year retire visa stamped in passport already , so I doubt they are going to stamp anything in my passport , surely they wont stamp me 60 days on entry will they ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you've left Thailand with a Non-O retirement visa and haven't received an exit stamp, your 90-day reporting obligation does not apply while you're outside the country. Your 90-day reporting resets upon re-entry into Thailand, starting on the day you return. Ensure you have a re-entry permit to maintain your visa validity, and remember that you'll need to report your first 90 days in person after re-entering. Most importantly, always check your passport for an entry stamp upon returning, as this marks the start of your new 90-day count.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

Only do 90 reporting inside Thailand. The 90 days starts again when you re-enter Thailand. Some immigration offices expect you to report to the office to reset the 90 days in person and some don't. It all depends on the immigration office you use.

You must report 90 consecutive days in Thailand Each re-entry resets the counter to 0.

Unless you somehow avoided immigration on your departure you will definitely have a stamp when exiting right over your entry stamp.

Look again.

No 90 day reporting until 90 days from re-entry.

Hopefully you purchased a re-entry permit. If not your visa is automatically expired and you’ll have to apply again on your return

Great! Then you should be good. Now look in your passport and find the date immigration stamped you into Thailand. When you find that stamp you should see an exit stamp across it with the date you exited

Dac Samui no exit stamp , cos it's all digital after dropping your luggage off at self check in luggage belt where it prints your baggage label you then walk to digital passport control, you lay your passport face down on a machine that reads your passport look into camera and if face matches the passport , it then let's you exit , with no human on check out desk , then they check ya hand baggage for explosive devices etc, and then you go to departure gate , and show your boarding card only and get on your flight . No human interaction wot so ever . So no stamp of exit in passport

90 day reporting is only applicable if you are in thailand. If you leave thailand your 90 day reporting starts from the day you re-enter. You should receive an entry stamp on arrival at the airport immigration desk with the date of arrival (admitted) and written in pen by the official the date of expiration (until) of your non o visa. Your 90 day reporting will start afresh from the date of entry. In my dealings with immigration i always go in person. To avoid any mishaps with the online service and to obtain all the help I may need from the Information office.

i am comparing the METV and Non- O retirement visa. The METV is 6 months and id have to leave for a visa run every 60 days. i read i can extend each 60 day stay with a 30 day extension for a total of 9 months. Thats 3 x 90 days.

of course the hassle of flying out and returning every 90 days . Its alot easier to get. i think its 4000 baht ?

Then after 9 months i would come back to the US and apply for the

Non-O visa.

You must do your first 90 in person. Also, if you left Thailand without getting an exit/reentry visa at Immigration, you may have voided your visa already.

Always check your passport has been stamped if leaving or entering the Kingdom - on one occasion some years ago as I was leaving the Kingdom at Mae Sai to cross into Myanmar at Takhilek, when I reached the Myanmar immigration office they noticed the lack of a stamp and I had to walk back and reuest it be stamped - the officer just forgot! Always check and look carefully at the date as well - both entering and leaving and also when entering a foreign coutry. as to your question you only report the 90 days within the Kingdom.

From the day you enter Thailand again then you count 90 days to next 90 day report. You get a entry date in passport when returning so you know when you need to do the report.

For example, I visited Japan during Xmas and returned 30 December and my next 90 day will be around 20-30 March.

You can file it 7 days before expire.

After you have read all the comments. Take a screen shot of the one you decide to go with . Then if it turns out to be wrong you can show immigration and im sure they will understand why you couldn’t be bothered to go and ask them in the first place , and everything will be fine .

Graham Andrews Very much depends on the Thai immigration officer. Some are outright sticklers for enforcement others are much more lenient. Last officer was only too pleased to stamp me in and smiled and said welcome

"my passport was not stamped anything to say I left thailand. "

Then you did something wrong. They ALWAYS stamp you out.

And they always stamp you in regardless of your visa.

John Nielson not so, the last fee times i left Thailand there were only auto gates where u scanned passport which then let you thru. No stamp.

I only got a stamp on arrival which is the date used to determine a 90 day report date.

I last entered on 24th Nov so mine is due now.

Did you get a re-entry permit? I didn't and lost my OA visa when I got back (even though it said "Multiple Entry"). If not, you might try getting one at the airport at immigration but before you get to the passport check/visa.

You should be stamped in for the validity of your re-entry permit, which should be the same date your current extension expires. Check they stamp you in correctly before leaving the desk.

You don't do 90 day reports when outside Thailand, the 90 day count starts again when you re-enter with the day you enter being day 1, your 1st report will need to be done in person

correct, but you should also tell him to do a TM30 the day he arrives, always safer todo himself, then on his first 90 day , he does that in person , and hands in his alien forms at the same time , when doing the 90 days , after that he can register for the TM47 online , the people who have have problems with the online 90 days , have not done this routine

No need to report when out of the country. The clock restarts when you arrive back in Thailand. That day counts as number 1.

Stuart Chiverton and if you per say have a short holiday in Malaysia before the 90 days is up there is not 90 day reporting till 90 days after you arrived back from Malaysia. Then maybe you had a short holiday in Vietnam - same again 90 days start from when you arrive back in Thailand.

When you enter Thailand you're stamped in up to the expiry date of your current extension (provided you have purchased a re-entry permit). Your 90-day report is due 90 days from re-entry (date of re-entry is day 1).
