I have the done the E-visa online for Non O 90 days retirement visa, it says it's confirmed today and has a valid from date on it being today 10th Sept 2025 and a valid Until date being 8th dec 2025 , is this the period of time I have to travel or is it the dates I can stay Thailand for , if it's the dates I can' stay in thailand for then it's all wrong , I told the e-visa people the dates I fly and I return on Feb 20th 2026 so why are my flights dates not showing , so it's all very confusing really . To me it's stating I have to be out of Thailand on Dec 8th 2025 is it there mistake or is it me and I am correct in thinking I must travel from today up to Dec 8th 2025 , thanks for your assistance or any info in this matter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The validity dates on your Non-O e-visa indicate the period during which you must enter Thailand, not the duration of your stay. You are required to enter Thailand by December 8, 2025, and upon entry, you will receive a 90-day stamp, allowing you to stay until approximately March 2026. Your question about the confusion regarding travel dates has been clarified, and it's advised to confirm details through the Thai Embassy's resources.

What country did you apply for the visa from

You can travel any time after the 10th. On entry you'll get your 90 days. The last day you can travel and arrive is 8th Dec.

Read the Thai Embassy website to get a understanding of “Validity of Visa & Period of Stay”

It's the precursor to get the 12 retirement visa,allows opening bank accounts to put in 800k bht financial obligation

correct wording, please! The 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa doesn't get you a "12 retirement visa". It doesn't get you any visa at all. It only allows you to apply for the "12-months extension of the temporary stay permit based on retirement". This "extended" stay permit is not a visa. The 90-days Non-Imm-O retirement visa itself actually becomes invalid for further use when you enter Thailand

@Nongnuch *******
that's why I said ' PRECURSOR ' To getting a 12 month visa.it makes the process easier (and cheaper) to get it.it is actually what you get when you get the 1st 15 month retirement visa, 3month non O then 12 month retirement?Yes
Nongnuch ********
@Rodger *******
the 90-days Non-Imm-O visa becomes invalid when you enter Thailand. You are in Thailand on a "stay permit". And only this stay permit can get extended for 12 months "based on having started on a retirement visa". You get issued a 12-months stay permit, not a "12 months retirement visa". Check this stamp - does it mention anywhere being a "visa"? No it doesn't. It is a stay permit

@Nongnuch *******
ok big freakin deal,most farangs call it a visa?either 90 day NO 'whatever' still can get you a bank account in an hour, then costs US$1000 Less for agents to get your 12 month retirement
Nongnuch ********
@Rodger *******
depends on the bank staff, there are reports that applicants on a Non-O visa have been turned away. If this happens, pay an agent to get the bank account opened, it costs something around 5000 THB

@Rodger *******
there is nothing such as a "12-month visa". There only is a 90-days visa, followed by a 12-months extension of a temporary stay permit. The 12-months extension is not a "visa". Your wording is wrong. There is no "15-months retirement visa", though. . . . Many Immigrations have by now discontinued using wrong English and don't talk about a "visa extension" any more. A "visa" cannot get extended, only a "stay permit" can get extended

Just curious how much you have to pay for this e-visa? I m wondering if it is worth paying for it since Thailand gives US passport holders 60days free visa.

@VP ********
Its about $80. The Non O gets you 90 days on arrival, but allows you to extend yearly from there if you meet the financial requirements.

@VP ********
he states it is a Non O, so he’s a long stay.

The date on the visa is when you must enter Thailand by. When you enter, you'll receive a 90-day entry stamp
