TLDR : Answer Summary
The user accidentally booked a flight that exceeds the 60-day tourist visa limit by 33 days. Commenters suggest options such as booking a border run to a nearby country (like Laos or Malaysia) to reset the visa period, paying a fine for overstaying (500 Baht per day), or changing the flight to an earlier date. It is advised to address the situation before reaching the intended departure date to avoid issues at immigration or with the airline.

1500 bht fine or use that money to hop across the border and get a bit of value for it.

Take a trip somewhere for a few days before your 60 are up. That way you don’t need to extend and when enter again the new 60 day stamp will cover you for the remainder of your trip

Prob best to do that before you set off from your home country in case they pull you at your departure airport and ask why your dates dont match. Ive always gone on a 1 way flight without visa and never been asked but always best to be covered

Not sure if you need any recommendations but if its only a few days you will be needing, Id go to Da Nang. The airport is 10 mins from the beach ideal for a quick visit as opposed to the bigger cities which Id recommend a week for

You may be prevented from boarding your flight inbound depending upon the airline so you need to either change it or have an outbound flight out within your arrangements

Book a cancelable flight

The best solution would be if you took a 2-3 day trip to Malaysia or someplace similar. That way you get 120 days total in Thailand and you get to visit another country.

Check if you can change your return date. Usually against payment they'll let you.

What if If you're asked by the airlines and or immigration about a return flight?

@Simon ****
it's gonna cost more than 1500 baht for 3 day overstay

How much to change the return date of the ticket?

If you are definitely leaving 3 days over , you can pay a fine at immigration ( 500B per day ) not ideal but doable

immigration at the airport... Go to an office you'll end up in the clink.

You could do a border run to Laos or other location…lots of low cost airlines

If not you will be on 2-3 days of overstay…

This depends on when you’re flight is leaving 0030 on day 3 you will go through immigration prior to midnight so only 2 days of overstay

฿500 a day and it will be annotated in your passport

There used to be a 7 day day stamp that cost ฿1,900 you could get it because you couldn’t get the 30 day extension

Not sure if they still do it
