It doesn’t work. I’ve been in many groups who post lots of information in their “files”, “Photos” and “features” folders at the top of the group page. Hardly anyone uses them, even if Admin reminds the group once or so a week.

That Anonymous tag many hide behind doesn’t help the situation at all.

It could have been shorter. Not sure what 3 paragraphs of “Background” has to do with you applying for a DTV…

There’s no connection between DVT and getting a Thai bank account.

This VISA seems almost like playing Russian Roulette. Sorry you got rejected

cool, thanks for the information. I’m anti hassle for sure. Definitely seems like DTV is a better way to go.

Just curious. What improvement do you get from switching to a DTV from your current one. I guess with DTV you have 5 years vice 1 year to renew, correct ? And it’s a little cheaper for having banked money 500,000 vs 800,000. Any other benefits that push you to change VISA types. You still have 90 day reports right ? Do you have to leave the country before the 180 days expire with DVT. That would be a hassle. Trying to weigh if switching types would be worth it for a buddy of mine.

This isn’t an argument, but just some discussion points. But I don’t think you get the point. You have to get here and that certainly is not a free trip. If you don’t book accommodations are you going to sleep in the street. And about funds. People ask multiple times everyday here about how much and for how long does their bank account need to show funds. Evidently it’s an issue. Where did you get that 90% number. Google? What’s wrong with an over 50 VISA. I’ve been here 12 years on it and costs like only 1900 baht a year. Anyway it’s making many people happy so that’s a good thing. But I do see people going great lengths to circumvent the system. A 5 year dental procedure. And moving to Thailand to get it. Come in, Give me a break.

Me, Problem, None at all. I play by the rules the way they’re written. For you. Get in Anyway you can as the rules now favor you. This visa is giving you a Carte Blanche equivalent…. Get in while you still can and not worry about it for 5 years.
