TLDR : Answer Summary
A Filipino successfully shared their experience obtaining the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila, outlining key details such as the requirements for appointment (walk-ins accepted), processing time (3 days), and necessary documents including employment contracts, bank certification, and application forms. They reported a visa fee of 18,000 PHP. Other users mentioned recent approvals in Phnom Penh, indicating that similar experiences may be occurring in other locations.

Hi Hannah! I'm Filipino and I was able to obtain the Destination Thailand Visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila.

- Appointment Requirements:

-- Appointment Needed? No appointment is necessary. The embassy accepts walk-ins from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).

- Processing Time (I applied September 9th, got my passport back on September 12th with the Visa sticker on)

-- The total time for my application, including waiting, was approximately 20 minutes (when I applied). And less than 10 minutes when I collected my passport.

- Requirements Submitted:

-- Employment Contract:

A signed job offer from my current employer in the Philippines.

-- Certificate of Employment:

This document included the company name, salary details, date of hire, job position, and stated the purpose as "Visa Application."

It also confirms my authorization to work remotely.

-- Bank Certification:

A statement from a local bank showing a balance exceeding 500,000 Baht (converted from PHP), specifically for visa application purposes.

-- Photos:

Two recent passport-sized photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm) with a white background.

-- Visa Application Forms:

Completed Visa Application Form and Supplementary Form for Filipinos (available on the embassy's website).

-- Passport:

Original passport plus a photocopy.

Visa Fee:

Amount: 18,000 PHP (cash only).

Hi both, nakalipad na po ba kayo from Manila to Thailand? Kinailagan po ba ng OEC sa immigration exit? I'm about to fly out and am worried. Technically it shouldn't be needed but lam nyo naman po sa tin, minsan pag walang clear rules, igegeneralize na lang. In case di po sila familiar Overseas Employment Certificate po ung OEC required for OFWs.

Hi
@Je**
!

Yes I've been in Thailand since September 21.

The PH immigration officer only asked me why my stay is too long as my return flight is in December. I just said "remote worker po ako" and no other questions, the IO didn't even ask to see any supporting documents (although I have them ready, Cert of Employment stating I can work remotely, Payslips, and Bank Cert - I over prepared, and had all documents they could possibly ask for, that I could think of). I guess it'll be case by case, depending on the immigration officer.

Re: the OEC, you're right - this document isn't something we would need (and the IO should ask for) - as we are techically not OFWs. Incase they do, I would recommend you explain to them the DTV visa you have for Thailand which I assume is under the workcation category.

Goodluck on your flight!

thanks so much! i guess a return flight would help then on the convo. I didn't plan to get one since i move around countries so wouldn't have plans to return to the PH soon enough but what I'm getting from this is the return flight helps. Thanks a bunch po! Enjoy Thailand!
